MP, "health of the mother" is a loaded term as well. This is the "exception" that is often insisted upon when negotiations are made on partial birth or very late term abortions.

Problem is, "health" often is meant to include "mental health," which pretty much means an excuse can be manufactured.

"Life of the mother" is quantifiable, and can't be fiddled with.

"Health of the mother" is not quantifiable, and is the vehicle used to give anyone a late-term abortion that wants one.

Great question, Marcia. And one the pro-abortion advocates will not answer, because it reveals the bankruptcy of their pathetic argument.

When a living human being is killed with intent that is murder. No amount of compromise and word wrangling can change that. Murder is murder.

I don't think abortion laws had anything to do with these. Weren't these always allowed anyway (to save the mother's life)?

They won't be if all abortion is outlawed. Unintended consequences always crop up, don't they?

No one here is debating the issue of abortion as a medical necessity. The intentional use of it to remove an "inconvenience" is premeditated murder. I will not cast one vote for anyone that advocates such hideous behavior. And B. Hussein Obama advocates it.

This is a red herring. No matter how abortion laws are changed, there is little to zero chance that laws to save the mother's life would be changed.

The real issue is the high number of abortions done for the sake of convenience - which are the majority of abortions.
