    Revelation 19:20-21 (King James Version)

20And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

please explain the underlined verse... thx.

    "And the remnant were slain"

Most other versions say "rest" NOT remnant. That is the rest of all who were with beast and the false prophet -

So the beast and the false prophet were cast ALIVE into the lake of fire BUT the rest of all them were killed by the sword from out of the mouth of Christ..

    That's how I see it.

The "sword"that comes from the mouth of Jesus is His Word. His Word that created this universe, save us and it will be His Word that will destroy the wicked at the end of this age, just as Isa. 11:4 tells us.

Isa. 11:4"But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked"

    Just a thought...

Every person born of Adam's race has to lose their physical lives once before spiritual judgment is passed.
The sword is God's words. They act upon substance and spirit. The formation of the the universes came from sound waves when he spoke, life from His breath, thus destruction of earth and the end of physical life can also be brought about by the same, right?

12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
