    I'm pretty sure no one here believes these polls anymore, but just in case, here's some light reading on the subject. Perhaps the bigger story here is the dishonesty of our current media. Thank God Trump is one of the few politicians willing to call them out.

    Polls are deployed only when they might prove useful — that is, helpful to the powers that be in their question to maintain their position and influence.

    The latest rod by which to beat the President of the United States is a Washington Post/ABC News poll showing Mr. Trump’s approval ratings languishing at 36 per cent.

    Americans across the board appear, on first take, to be well out of love with the new President. But the “small print” on the polls reveals something quite disturbing about the methodology of the group responsible.

    The poll was performed by AbtAssociates — a swamp dweller-staffed research and policy shop in Cambridge, MA.

    AbtAssociates board members include former Bob Dole, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Planned Parenthood, World Bank, and Deloitte staffers. In other words, it is a microcosm of the party of Davos.

    But that in itself doesn’t rule AbtAssociates out from doing decent work. What might, however, is the underlying philosophy behind political polling, and the methodology they use to conduct it.

    Trump is popular with the common man, and the Democrats stopped polling the common man a long time ago. It is possible that Trump will pick up more seats in 2018 because no one, not even Democrats, knows what the Democrat Party stands for anymore--it seems to be a far left, socialistic nightmare.

    Very unusual for party in the White House to pick up seats during the off year election.
    But then again - Trump is not your usual President.

    Yes, but look what will happen if the Democrats gain seats--impeachment for purely political reasons. I think that the Democrat Senator from Indiana Joe Donnelly is in very serious trouble. He is the only statewide Democrat now in office in Indiana, a state that was overwhelmingly for Trump in 2016 as our small towns and rural areas are in a deep recession that the Democrat Party won't even acknowledge because it is mostly poor whites. Secondly, Donnelly is a loudmouth about sending jobs to Mexico but it turns out that he draws a big paycheck every year from a family business that has all of the labor done in Mexico. Another case of Democrats saying do as I say not as I do.

    Conviction of an impeachment takes 2/3 of the Senate - would be very unlikely

    The common man? Whatever that is. No so much among common women, I suppose. Trump is a weak reed. He has no pull in the Congress and can't get anything controversial passed.

    Traditional grammar means the common person by the expression the common man so your point about women is too progressive for me. As for Trump's weakness, I agree. The establishment GOP--the Wall Street types and the country club types--are against Trump in spite of his being one of them because his agenda does not favor them. Both political parties are full of crooks. Look at Maxine Waters--her husband made a lot of money in the savings and loan deal but she still sits in Congress and is the leading black voice for impeachment for pure political reasons. If the Democrats win the House, they will impeach, led by Maxine Waters, an ignorant demagogue if ever there was one.

    Because of their hysterics and out-of-control serial fake news episodes the American people are now wise to their tactics. They will LOSE BIG-TIME in 2018, Trump will be re-elected in 2020 (should he choose to run).

    Don't believe the polls - they haven't been right about Trump for over 2 years. So why now?
