Continuing our series of lessons....through the book of Revelation....

LETS GO TO....... Revelation 1:2 & 3

-THE HIDDEN BLESSING....FOR ME IN THIS SERIES-
(It is a “humbling experience”

Because I am way over my head:
When it comes to the book of Revelation:

But I am going to follow the Lord’s instructions!

V.2A “Who bare record of the word of God,”
-WHAT WE ARE.......ACTUALLY STUDYING-
(God’s record
------------------------
This same thing is true of the entire Bible:
--------------------------------------------------
The Bible is....a perfect record:
Of the things....God wanted us to know:
------------------------
It includes...quotations of men & angels & demons:
But are faithfully recorded as...“The word of God”!

V.2B “and of the testimony of Jesus Christ,”
-THE RED-LETTER......PARTS OF THIS BOOK-
(The places where Jesus actually spoke
------------------------
Being set apart as Special:
--------------------------------------------------
-PUTTING TO REST.....AN OLD ARGUMENT-
Some have said that..red lettering is misleading:
Because all the Bible...is God’s Word:
------------------------
But this....would seem to disagree!

V.2C “and of all things that he saw.”
-THE VISIONARY......PARTS OF THIS BOOK-
(The visions...that John was shown
That he faithfully described to us:
--------------------------------------------------
Using the words....that God wanted him to use:
To describe them.

V.3A “Blessed”
-THE BLESSING....A CHRISTIAN RECEIVES FROM THIS BOOK-
(A blessing we need...in this wicked world
“Blessed” Lit.(Happy)

The happiness we will receive:
When we see....how the LORD brings things together!

V.3B “[is] he that readeth,”
-THE BLESSING......OF STUDYING IT-
(When we take the time study it
The Lord blesses our labor:
------------------------
By allowing us.....to understand it!
--------------------------------------------------
-THE LIE.....THAT SOME PEOPLE WILL TELL YOU-
Don’t allow anyone....to convince you:
That the book of Revelation....can not be understood:
------------------------
It’s God’s Word...and it is meant to be understood:
To one degree or another!

V.3C “and they that hear the words of this prophecy,”
-THE BLESSING......OF BEING TAUGHT FROM IT-
(Being taught about future events
------------------------
Where the LORD is glorified:
And His people are delivered!
--------------------------------------------------
-A CLUE.....AS TO HOW THIS IS TO BE TAUGHT-
“the words of this prophecy”
Not the words or opinions of men.....who deny or twist it:
To their own destruction!
------------------------
This is why God gave His Word to us:
So that we can learn the truth directly from Him!
--------------------------------------------------
-GOD’S INSTRUCTIONS.....NOT TO LOOK TO MEN FOR ANSWERS-
(Because every born again believer has the Holy Spirit
See 1 John 2:27
“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you,
and ye need not that any man teach you:
but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things,
and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you,
ye shall abide in him.”

The Holy Spirit will teach us of “all things”!

V.3D “and keep those things which are written therein:”
-THE BLESSINGS.......OF FOLLOWING IT’S INSTRUCTIONS-
(Being doers of the Word
------------------------
Remember God’s promise...about the Bible...
Qt. 2Timothy 3:16 “All scripture..”
--------------------------------------------------
-AN EXAMPLE....OF IT’S KIND OF INSTRUCTIONS-
Revelation 2:5A
“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent”
------------------------
This will being a Christian.....great happiness!

V.3E “for the time [is] at hand.”
-ANOTHER REASON THIS BOOK....WILL BE SUCH A BLESSING-
(Because of the times we are living in
Qt. 2Timothy 3:13 “But evil men and..”

We come to this book...and are reminded;
That the Lord is still on the throne:
And that He is in complete control!
