Just heard late Friday evening that Richard Roberts is stepping down as President of Oral Roberts University.

What's their complaint? Is this something other than the Charismatic pattern?

    Mixed reactions tonight in Tulsa:

    e.g.
Anyone holding their breath on where the Board of Regents stands? What a hoot, foxes living in the loft of the henhouse. Maybe this'll put the brakes on this major engine of the Charismatic industry.

I am saddened to see this occur. :tear:

It gives a black eye to all Christian educational institutions, unfortunately, for those looking for an excuse.

I do wonder why this is in the "Baptist colleges / Seminaries" forum, though? Although I cannot think of a more appropriate forum, aside from maybe "Current Events".

    Moderator's Note

I'm willing to grant a little lattitude, as we do discuss other Christian institutions from time to time. However, Ed is right: ORU is not Baptist, and this forum is designed for Baptist seminaries. But leniency is allowed, so long as it's not taken for granted.

    As you were

My apologies for putting this in the wrong forum. Wasn't even thinking.

I knew it was wrong from the beginning, but Tom Butler put me up to it. I wouldn't have contributed to the thread if he hadn't started it :tear:

I hope the mods will close this thread, since another one has been started in the News/Current Events category. Please go to the other thread to post.
