Personally from what I have studied I believe RW is a christian dominionist much like C.Peter Wagner. I believe that RW believes that God wants us to reclaim our rightful place in the world. Taking it back from Satan etc... This is why all the emphasis on hunger, education etc...
RW seems to be getting more and more involved in projects and with people that are not in the least bit concerned about winning souls to Christ. Those folk are just using RW for their own political agenda or what have you.
The Bible talks about not yoking up with unbelievers. How does RW justify teaming up with people like Bono who btw believes in more than one path to eternal life.
Why should the so called "america's pastor" be very publically yoking up with folk and institutions that have historically been very anti- christian? Don't give me that ole "He is like Jesus eating with the sinners song and dance". RW's style and philosophy of ministry is blurring the lines between what is biblical and what is not. He is helping to "dumb down" evangelicals who didn't have that far to go already.
The world in Jesus's day hated Him and He was God who came and died for their sins.

The world loves RW and all that he does. He doesn't divide anyone etc... He is coool man...
He is everybody's bud. Mr. Easygoin...

Funny he must be greater than his master I suppose? Jesus said they(the world) hated him and they (the world) would hate us if we were one of His . Because a slave cannot be greater than his master to paraphrase it. So it really makes me wonder when all the press and tv folk think Ricky baby is so hip and cool and they think the word Jesus is so exclusive it really makes me wonder just what kind of message or philosophy ole RW is out there spreading?

wow! you are right on - loved your whole post [IMG]

what kind of message is ole RW out there spreading?

I think Jesus said it best:

    Matt 7:26 And everyone who hears these Words of Mine, and who does not do them, he shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand;
27 and the rain came down, and the floods came up, and the winds blew and beat against that house; and it fell, and great was the collapse of it.

Now now, you are being a little judgemental about his coolness. After all, he did play "Purple haze" at angels stadium didn't he? Maybe he can be a guest musician on Bono's next album. [IMG]

Yes, he is definately cool...but his theology surely isn't.

Everybody sing! (to the tune of Purple Haze)

Purpose Driven Life.....is in my brain

Lately the Bible doesn't seem the same

    I'm confused.....and I don't know why

What Christian attitude on this thread...c'mon guys your hate is showing through.

Rick Warren is a brother in Christ.. If you can't love your brother whom you have seen how can you love God whom you haven't?

I sure hope some of you repent before going to church Sunday..

I don't think anyone here has shown a hatred for Rick Warren, just derision of his faulty and worldly theology.

Man, I thought I joined a Christian board  !

So much arguing, but hey! I'm your typical stereotype white, middle-class, evangelical , republican Christian! I know where I stand on issues an really, why argue with liberal Christians? Eventually the Holy Spirit will convict them...

Never read Warren's book, never heard him preach, don't know where he stands with the Lord. I do respect Steve Camp however (known him for over 20 years in what in does) so I pay attention when he speaks.

Joel Olsteen I have seen. Do Christians really need more self-help gurus to make them feel good? I my advice to everyone here: there are web-sites that have great sermons from Godly men that I think everyone would benefit from. Listen to the sermons form great men of God such as Leonard Ravenhill, A.W. Tozer, Paris Reidhead, Ian Paisley. After some of this preaching you'll all fall down on your knees begging God's forgiveness. Receiving Jesus, holiness, it wiil all fall in place what our priorities are as Christians. Then read "Set The Trumpet To Thy Mouth" by David Wilkerson. We all need some mighty conviction done in our lives!

Now let's slam Joel Olsteen! :D

What if she had instead read from the Bible, the only Book that has the true power to convict? Self help is not Holy Spirit conviction.

Well, I'm sorry, but the ridiculous song above sure sounds like hate to me..

How can you make fun of a brother in Christ?

It is one thing to disagree with his theology, but this thread has gone too far. How many of you will be preaching about Christ's love tommorow? I hope the Holy Spirit reminds you of making fun and slandering a brother in Christ before you stand behind the Holy desk, and preach from the Holy Book.

RW does preach the gospel, I have heard him.

psst...it is! For one day we will stand before Christ to give account (stewardship) of the things done in the body. And making fun of a brother in Christ will have to be explained... I hope you can.

Rick will probably be too busy explaining his teaching error to God at that time. Until he repents of his error, he is no brother of mine.

I don't hate you. You could be a really nice guy, but you are just wrong ... really wrong and really dangerous too if you lead people in your church.

However, scripture shapes my attitude towards you.

The shalom of Christ to all of you who disagree with me.

Some of the stuff on this thread is an embarrasment to Christianity.

People have every right to disagree with Rick Warren. But can't we do it in a Christ like manner? I cannot see Christ coming up with silly songs, etc.

I hope the moderator shuts it down soon so the foolishness will stop.
