He never called him any names.

The video looks like it's been speeded up, but I can't be sure, cuz there's no audio, if anyone else noticed this, does the audio match the video ?

And to A-Pal, do the folks at the Huffington Post know you're a Christian ? <personal attack deleted - LE>

Ah yes, fine distinction without a difference there - you're correct that Limbaugh didn't call him "a" fake in the clip I saw; he said, "I don't know if he's faking it." I don't have a transcript, but he said words to the effect that Fox was faking or exaggerating.

No, but people were not objecting to Limbaugh criticizing Fox's political views, but for mocking his disability.

And, yeah, it's still not kosher to mock cripples for being crippled. Mock his views, but not his disease.

He asked if Fox may be off his meds, or if he had somehow exaggerated his movements for the camera. Limbaugh also said it was shocking, that he'd never seen him move like that. He never made fun of him, that I heard. He never was mean, that I heard, and I did listen to the entire broadcast.

He also said he had nothing but sympathy for anyone in the throes of this disease. But the disease does not protect him from criticism, when he misrepresents the platforms of two people running for office.

How about the you-tube audio, Could you hear it ? The video looks very jerky, like it's either a poor copy, or has been sped up.

Listen to the first part again, before he comes back from commercial break.

Rush Limbaugh is a disguisting mass of flesh. It is beyond me why this pill popping addict, this self indulgent slob keeps showing up in this forum. Dont we have better things to talk about? He is the exact example of what I want my kids not to be. He is all talk, and its all about the money. He has the moral fortitude of a slug.

I'm not trying to defend him, I can't hear the audio on the you-tube thingy, it must be my settings.

I've cringed, at times, listening to him. But I don't remember him being mean, in this case.

I've heard some pretty bad things come out of his mouth, about Barney Frank, Harry Reid, John McCain, so maybe I'm a little roughened up, but he didn't belittle Fox about his disease, at all.

The controversy has carried over into O'Reilly's show. From a Fox transcript:
Maybe you needed the video to go with the audio to fully appreciate the mocking.

Perhaps, a smoother video stream would be nice, as well.

Let me try this again: yes, he IS mocking him. I find it absolutey amazing that there are Rush apologists would even attempt to claim this. If he were doing this about one of your family members in front of you, you would not only think he was mocking them, you would probably knock him into the middle of next week.

It is simply further proof that Rush is a bad guy.... a really bad guy.

Well, I was listening, and no he didn't. As a matter of fact, he accused him outright.

Actually he accused him of being a shill. That accusation is not without a sense of irony.

Here's a question for you: was Rush as critical of Fox when he did something very similar for Specter?

    Arlen, not Arlene.

The RR consider that another mark against Spector.

Unfortunately, that's not the first time Rush Limbo opened his mouth and put his foot in it, and it won't be the last! :type:

Without a doubt, the filming of the Fox ad was done at a time to assure max emotional impact. And to do that they picked a time when Fox was showing max symptoms. Whether he went off the meds or had just taken the meds....., they timed the production to get exactallly what they wanted to portray on tape.... Pull no punches, showing the full blown effects. What you see is what they wanted to get across. And I have no problem with that.

What I seem to have a problem with is the fact that what he said is misleading at best, and an outright misrepresentation at worst. I believe that the words spoken were not his own, but a script that was given him. Why not just say that his candidate supports federal funding for "embryonic" stem cell research, and her opponent doesn't.

Criminalize the science that gives people hope??????? Thats a bit of a stretch isn't it.

Yet his message has been consistent over the years. He could well have written the words or he could have had help from a professional writer - what difference would that make?

'Cause that just doesn't pack the same emotional whallop.

    Well, no.

There is lots of information out there on this issue for the reader to access. To date I am not aware of any positive findings showing progress in embroynic stem cell research. This youtube presentation presents pretty much my thoughts on it.

Let me add a couple things

When Fox was interviewed by Katie, she stated her father was suffering from the same condition. She also stated she donated money to the Fox charity. Was she able to be unbiased, possibly, but I dont think she was.

CBS should have had a more unbiased reporter.

Second, from I saw, Rush was not mocking Fox, but rather demonstrating how Fox was during the commercial.

Remember, Rush said "I have never seen MJF like that" (or words to that effect) Rush did apologize for stating that, but really he had no need to as that was simply his opinion based on what Rush observed.

Remember, Conservatives are not against stem cell reasearch, ONLY when a baby is killed to get those stem cells.
