    I wouldn't know. I don't witness many hangings nor am I familiar with the "ins and outs" of the various modes of execution.

    a snuff film is a movie which shows an actual death. There are a few different definitions, but it is slang to refer to an "entertainment" film of someone dying. Personally I don't think it's really fair to call this video clip a "snuff film" as there are legitimate reasons to have his execution on tape, as well as the fact that he was not executed for the sake of entertainment.

    For myself I don't intend on watching the clip. It is enough for me to know that it happened. I don't need to see it.

    The clip was taken via a cell phone and posted on a website. Not exactly a professional act of historical preservation.

    People who view it do so out of curiousity.....morbid curiousity. It matters not if it is graphic or benign. It is a clip of an execution.

    Morbid curiousity + death clip = snuff film

    I know that snuff films are typically pornographic in nature, but to watch this is just as obscene to me. The only people who should have an overwhelming desire to watch this would be family members of his victims and/or anyone else connected with the trial. And their reasons for watching would be to have some closure to the nightmare that was the regime of Sadaam Hussein.

    Anyone else clicking on a website to watch this only does so to fill a need of morbid curiousity. I won't say that anyone shouldn't see the clip, but I am saying that historical understanding and intellectual gain is not the drawing card.

    Not entirely true. Some may want to view the execution to see justice served to a ruthless dictator who murdered many, many people. Some may want to view it because a family member was killed in action while serving in Iraq or various other reasons.

    You can't just pin "a morbid curiousity" on everyone as you have.

    Well, I'm sorry this thread got hijacked. The purpose of the OP was to inform as to what his last words were and what his last word was, which was Mohammed (it was not about the noose, etc.). Now he knows his whole belief system was a lie. Since this thread was hijacked, it is being closed. It is on page 3 anyway.
