    Sad, isn't it. His whole family is either part time or volunteers in the church and active in ministry. The damage to the [unnamed] boys is the most tragic part. In any church ministry this can happen. It is probably easier to have issues like this when you have 50k people. This volunteer youth worker was in the church at the same time MY grandsons were in the program, so especially grievous to me.

    UPDATE: Saddleback Church youth mentor convicted of lewd acts with teen boys – Orange County Register

    "Ruven Meulenberg.33, of Lake Forest, was convicted of two counts of lewd acts with a minor younger than 14 and three counts of lewd acts on a child 14 or 15."

    "Meulenberg emigrated from Holland with his identical twin brother to work at Saddleback...and has mentored countless kids over the years....The defense attorney accused investigators of being extremely close-minded from the start."
