Is that a Missouri Synod Lutheran Sunday?

Nevermind. I just remembered. It is a Presbyterian Sunday to celebrate life vs abortion. No set Sunday, but one Sunday in January.

    Cheers,

    Jim

drfuss: Our SBC quarterly is covering 1st Thessalonians this quarter. However, our January 18 lesson is on the Sanctity of Life with scriptures from the Old Testament and the Gospels. The January 25 lesson is back in the book of 1st Thessalonians. So in the SBC, I suppose the Sanctity of Life Sunday would be January 18.

It is the same one that Focus on the Family recognizes. I couldn't find it on their web site.

Senator Barack Obama, speaking to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, July 17, 2007 stated: “The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act.* That's the first thing that I'd do."

The purpose of the Freedom of Choice act is to codify Roe v Wade. That act would eliminate any and all restrictions on the abortion practice, including the barbaric Partial Birth Abortion Act. However, I believe that passage of this act does not mean abortion could not be ruled illegal at a later date based on the Constitutional guarantee of Due Process.

According to information in that act there were 1.2 million illegal abortions each year prior to Roe v Wade which I believe is a lie. The act also states that “According to one estimate, prior to 1973, as many as 5,000 women died each year in the United States as a result of having an illegal abortion.” I believe that number is also high although these women had the freedom to choose. The unborn child does not and as many as 4000 are murdered each day. Sadly many professing Christians voted to continue this practice. Is the antichrist among us today? Is there apostasy in the churches today?

I think the day Clinton was sworn in, or else the day after - his first in office - was a Sanctity of Life Sunday. I remember because I was in the March in DC that day and I heard on the radio that I had with me about Clinton signing some laws for abortion rights or doing away with restrictions on abortions (can't recall now).

There is usually a huge march for life in Wash DC from the Monument to the Capitol on Sanctity of Life Sunday. Not sure what the specific plans are for this one. People come from all over the country for it.

If Obama doesn't believe in the sanctity of life, then he ought to summarily dismiss the Secret Service details for not only himself but for his wife and children and all other of the Secret Service protection details for anyone serving in any capacity in his administration.

Anyone care to take me up on how soon he'll do that?

After all, it'd sure save us taxpayers some money, wouldn't it?
