Sanders Should Review History Before Lecturing on Racism

While speaking at Liberty University in Virginia this Monday, 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders accused the United States of having been built “on racist principles.”

According to Daniel Greenfield, a Shilman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, Sanders should thoroughly review the history of his own socialist party before he dares lecture anybody else on racism.

Writing for FrontPage Magazine, Greenfield explained how Bernie’s own party has ties to blatant racism that trace back to as recently as the 1900s.

Take for instance the first socialist congressman, Victor L. Berger, who once opined, “If we are ever to have socialism in America and Canada, we must keep them white man’s countries.”
He also once declared that “[n]egroes and mulattoes constitute a lower race.”

Also consider the words of Ernest Untermann, a prominent socialist author who once declared, “I am determined that my race shall be supreme in this country and the world.”

Untermann also alleged that minorities of all shades were a menace to the “progress of the working class.”

Better yet, take a look at what Daniel De Leon, described as a leading figure in the Socialist Labor Party of America, said about black minorities:

“The negro vote in the Socialist Labor Party is unimportant and the negro is so tightly stuck to the Republican party and so completely fooled by the fakirs of his race in the pulpit and press that he is not likely to play an important part in the revolution.”

Last but not least are the words of Jack London, a renowned socialist activist who advocated on the behalf of unionization and workers’ rights:

“I am first of all a white man, and only then a socialist.”

100% correct.

So he's not denying the truthfulness of Sanders' statement. He just doesn't want Sanders talking about it. :laugh:
