"three-quarters of the value of a barrel of oil is taken by the state government before that oil is permitted to leave the state. Alaska residents each get a yearly check for about $2,000 from oil revenues, plus an additional $1,200"

This sounds quite a bit like what your guy Obama wants to do - take money from the oil companies and then hand out checks.

How do you explain your inconsistency in criticizing Palin for doing exactly what you what Obama to do?

And by posting this you loose the moral authority to say that Palin is inconsistent - in as much as you are no better.

The Alaskan Legislature would disagree with both you and of all sources "Time".

Are you talking about my tax dollars or the dollars I spend on gasoline.

I would a whole lot rather send that money to Alaska then to Venezuela or Iran.

It is not a matter of liking her or not liking her. I do not believe she is qualified to be the president of the US. I realize she is running of to be the vice president. But if McCain is elected, being 72, there is a relatively high probability she will become president and I believe that will be disasterous for the US.

Actually I do not care for politicians in general. I find people around the world friendly and good, but politicians as problem makers.

Also, I put up some of these posts simply to show there are two sides to this political campaign.

    Two questions...

    1. Do you think that Obama is qualified to be President?

    2. Can you direct me to threads which you started that were critical of Obama? If so then please do.

I must say that this is quite a statement when one considers all the adulation heaped upon BHO - considering his qualifications!!!!

This comment seem a bit superfluous when considering all the extreme hoopla the other side receives; sure this is your real motive???

Could part of the reason be that the cost of living is high?
    Check this about food prices

    AND APARTMENTS!
Anchorage boasts the most job openings, but the cost of living runs high; in 2004, two-bedroom apartments cost an average of $913 a month.

When asked "1. Do you think that Obama is qualified to be President?
Crabtownboy replied "I believe he is more qualified than Palin"

I'm just wondering when he is going to answer the question?

Obama and his minions have a hard time answering questions with direct answers. Of course, they are use to being told what to think and say and it seems that if the questions are not easy, they revert to a "CHNGE, CHANGE, CHANGE" chant. What these poor uninformed people don't realize is that the change Obama is talking about is not going to agree with them financially or spiritually. That is guaranteed.

The question is which of the candidates, including the candidates for VP, are more qualified. Here I have to say that Obama and Biden are more qualified than McCain and Palin. Palin is the extremely, in my opinion. weak link in the Republician candidates. The idea of her becoming president to very unsettling. I have no problem with her being VP. McCain or any president can cut the VP out of any important decisions and information. Remember FDR kept Truman almost completely in the dark about what was going on.

    No you are incorrect.

I asked the question so I am quite aware of what it is.

The question is - Do you believe that Obama is qualified to be President?

A simple yes or no would be enough for me.

So I guess you are NOT going to answer the question.

IMHO Obama and Biden are much more qulaified to be President/Veep IF you want the USA to go towards a Socalist form of goverment.:tear:

Not quite turn about. More like apples and oranges.

Crabtown is claiming to be undecided... while bashing only McCain and praising Obama.

Crabtown is claiming to be showing both sides... while bashing only McCain and praising Obama.

I have made neither of those claims.

I do not see a whole lot of difference between the two parties in this regard. I do see us going into to debt at 1 billion + a day under the Republicians and I do not see either candidate address this properly. Surely McCain, who supported Bush in 90% of his votes does not seem to be of a mind to change that trend. I am not happy with either party's candidate ... so I have to decide which pair will probably do the least damage to the country. That being said I believe that if Palin, God forbid that McCain die or become unable to preform his duties as president, becomes president it will be much more disasterous than if Biden becomes president.

I am not sure you understand what Socialism is. Have you ever lived in a truely Socialist country?
