Even if he didn't know, the White House, surely, had knowlege. But that is neither here nor there in regads to the crux of this topic.

The president is not a member of CFIUS:

    www.treas.gov/offices/international-affairs/exon-florio

"In 1993, in response to a sense of Congress resolution, CFIUS membership was expanded by Executive Order 12860 to include the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs and the Assistant to the President for Economic Policy. In February 2003, the Department of Homeland Security was added to CFIUS. This brought the membership of CFIUS to twelve under the chairmanship of the Secretary of Treasury. The other members are the Secretaries of State, Defense, and Commerce, the Attorney General, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, the U.S. Trade Representative, and the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers."

It's certainly pertinent to the incompetency of this president. We had questions prior to the invasion of Iraq with regard to whether or not they were involved in some way with 9/11. We know the UAR was involved. Two of the hijackers were UAR citizens and a lot of the funding for the operation passed through the UAR.

We invade a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and offer the job to operate major U.S. ports to one that did. I suppose that's some kind of Texas logic but it doesn't fly with me.

    1) The president is not a member of CFIUS.

    2) Timothy McVeigh was involved in the Oklahoma City bombing. Should we have no business dealings with the United States because McVeigh was a U.S. citizen and because he may have deposited and withdrawn money from U.S. banks?

    3) We didn't offer it to DP World. London-based P&O is getting out of the port management business and sold its U.S. operations to DP World. This was a transaction between two companies. The U.S. government was not involved.

The Mercury News reports that the Dubai firm that won Bush administration backing to run six U.S. ports has at least two ties to the White House.

One is Treasury Secretary John Snow, whose department heads the federal panel that signed off on the $6.8 billion sale of an English company to government-owned Dubai Ports World - giving it control of Manhattan's cruise ship terminal and Newark's container port.

Snow was chairman of the CSX rail firm that sold its own international port operations to DP World for $1.15 billion in 2004, the year after Snow left for President Bush's cabinet.

The other connection is David Sanborn, who runs DP World's European and Latin American operations and who was tapped by Bush last month to head the U.S. Maritime Administration.

The ties raised more concerns about the decision to give port control to a company owned by a nation linked to the Sept. 11 hijackers.

Was this Secret Agreement with the United Arab Emirates, that does not require Dubai Ports to keep copies of business records on U.S. soil, where they would be subject to court orders, part of the administrations MEFTA plans?

We all know about NAFTA, CAFTA and the FTAA, but what is MEFTA??

In May 2003, the President proposed a Middle East Free Trade Area (MEFTA), which would link 22 Arab nations, Israel and the United States by 2013. The administration launched negotiations with the UAE in March 2005. Could this deal for control of the ports be part of their MEFTA negotiations?

Three regions with three currencies with three regional governments coordinated at the top by unelected officials officiating to appointed regional governors. European Union Pan American Union and Pan Arab Union this has long been in the works. These will eventually be collapsed into one big happy communist union with a cashless control grid and family dependency ratios for all the globalist's slaves. Look into the camera's lens smile and say comrade!

The London-based Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co., which previously operated at those ports, is a publicly traded company while Dubai Ports World is instead controlled by the UAE government.

Are the companies in Singapore and China that manage the ports government controlled? There was, and still is great furor over security concerns of the previous administration giving control of the Panama Canal to China.

This is a list of democrats who used to be against profiling. But many, maybe all, of them aren't any more.

" Senator Feingold (for himself, Senators. Corzine, Clinton, Lautenberg, Kennedy, Schumer, Durbin, Kerry, Boxer, Reid, Dodd, Cantwell, Mikulski, and Edwards) on February 26 introduced the End Racial Profiling Act of 2004 bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

The End Racial Profiling Act of 2004, among other things, says: In the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, many Arabs, Muslims, Central and South Asians, and Sikhs, as well as other immigrants and Americans of foreign descent, were treated with generalized suspicion and subjected to searches and seizures based upon religion and national origin, without trustworthy information linking specific individuals to criminal conduct. Such profiling has failed to produce tangible benefits, yet has created a fear and mistrust of law enforcement agencies in these communities."

I believe it's called playing politics with national security. ;)

I think that Sen. Clinton has alienated the Arab-American constituency by attempting to use this port decision as an election issue. That's pretty significant.

Here are two reasons to be concerned with the UAE control of the ports!!

9/11 Commission Ties U.A.E. to Bin Laden

The United States raised concerns with the United Arab Emirates seven years ago about possible ties between officials in that country and Osama bin Laden, according to a section of the Sept. 11 commission's report that details a possible missed opportunity to kill the al-Qaida leader.

    &lt;snip&gt;

The Sept. 11 commission's report released last year also raised concerns UAE officials were directly associating with bin Laden as recently as 1999.

Nuclear Reactors Top Dubai Ports' Cargo List

Nuclear reactors are among the most significant U.S. exports shipped out of five of the six ports slated for takeover by a Dubai company next week.

According to U.S. Transportation Department numbers cited Thursday by Newsday, the two "top products" shipped in and out of the Ports of New York and New Jersey are "mineral fuel [and] nuclear reactors." The New York-New Jersey ports handle 4,862 ships each year.

The Port of Baltimore processes 1,747 ships each year, where the top two products, according to Newsday, are "vehicles [and] nuclear reactors."

The Port of Miami unloads 1,247 ships annually. There the two top products are "apparel [and] nuclear reactors."

The Port of New Orleans processes 4,612 ships each year, where the top cargo is reportedly "machinery [and] nuclear reactors."

Of the six ports slated for takeover by Dubai Ports World, only Philadelphia does not count nuclear reactors as one of its "top products," with "precious stones [and] mineral fuel" leading the cargo list there.

</font>[/QUOTE]We can refuse to do business with them. I understand that we had a foreign company running the ports before but that was a British company. Would we have done business with a Nazi company during WW2? Bush continually assures us that we're in a war. That's why he invaded Iraq, right? Well, let me think about that one.

Bush's grandaddy did business with the Nazi's before and during WWII financing, arming and creating the enemy. Punishment? Slap on the hand. This clan see nothing wrong in creating and arming our enemies before a war much less sleeping with the them, best profits are made by funding and selling weapons to both sides in the conflict. Especially when you get to plan the conflicts in advance!

George's daddy did his weapons dealing with our enemies he was creating before selling us the weapons to try and defeat them. $$$ Cha ching $$$

War profiteering Bush Harriman style is a win win situation! Put a few Trotskyites in power that believe in perpetual revolution and creative destruction and you got yourself one beautiful money making business venture.

We purchase a lot of oil from government controlled oil companies. Do you advocate that we immediately stop purchasing oil from them? After all, oil is vital to national security while DP World will not be charge of security at these terminals that it will manage.

I would love to see us become no longer dependent on Middle Eastern oil, we would probably see alot fewer unconstitutional invasions of Middle Eastern nations. ;)
