    The godless left loves to vilify American Icons, but sometimes they get their false charges mixed up, was MLK a homosexual, or did he have a thing or young girls?
    The charges against King are probably less valid than the Russian Dossier.

    It is like no one posting has even read his biography. Rather than post "against the man" fallacies, present what is wrong with judging people by the content of their character, rather than the color of their skin.

    Present specifics, and lay off the generalities, because that is the mark of propaganda.

    When I lived in Memphis, I worked with a black lady whose husband was one of the ministers that brought him to Memphis

    The cost was $10,000. She did not have any good to say about him.

    Rather than buying into character assassination, address whether segregation reflected the brotherhood of Christ.

    Addressing a person's character rather than his or her positions misses the mark.
    What does scripture have to do with this thread? I had hoped the reminder of God's will would alter the course of this thread.

    But that doesn't take away the ridiculous notion that MLK is some sort of saint that should be celebrated. There were many MORE HONORABLE people who lead in the civil rights movement.

    You just can't handle the truth.

    Who said or implied MLK never fell short of the glory of God? Nobody.
    Those that try to tear down MLK by attacking his character rather than his views on race, are not on the side of truth.

    Nobody said anybody did.

    Or, they are actually objective about the reality of who MLK really was. Lots of people shared his views on race. That was not unique to him and certainly not a reason to put him on a pedestal.

    Again, what does this have to do with anything? Anyone can have a favorite verse. So what?

    What we are saying is that he is over-glorified, over-celebrated.

    I never rode a bus, sat at a lunch counter, or was pummeled with water from a fire hose. But I was the right age. And so I believe JFK, RFK and MLK are heros of America, who helped end racist laws, and change racist hearts. I am proud to be an American, with a shared dream.

    Who on this board is not? That has nothing to do with what we are saying about MLK. We are saying he is over-celebrated to almost godlike status. It's ridiculous.

    "We are determined here in Montgomery to work and fight until justice runs 'down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream.'"

    BTW, a broken reed is not an idol.
    And as the line goes, HRC is no MLK.
