Saggy is a precious name given to me by some friends of mine in college, due to my last name being hard to pronounce. At first it bothered me, but thinking if I let them know it bothered me, they would keep on calling me that, I acted like it didn't bother me, and they kept on calling me that.

The woman part comes in later, not because I got a sex change, because I have always been a woman, but later, walking across campus, people would yell, SaggyWoman. .. a term of endearment..I am sure..

So, a name I havent used since college, I bring to the board.

I just can't help it, can't keep it in any longer! Everytime I see your name I start singing, "Saggywoman, walkin' down the street." [IMG]

Aaron because that's my real name.

I used to take incoming calls for AT&T customer service. One Arab from New York was "DAK"ing calls on his bill. (Denying All Knowledge) I refused to issue an adjustment and he wanted my name and employee number.

    "Aaron."

    "Is that E-r-i-n?"

    "No, it's A-a-r-o-n."

    "Oh, THAT explains it!" *click*

I come from the tribe of Levi and I hail from Cyprus. My name (as you may have guessed it) was Joses (not Jose). But my buddies disliked it greatly and forthwith surnamed me Barnabas. (Acts 4:36) ;)

Well, the real story goes like this: When I first registered on the board I wasn’t very creative so I used three initials bjh. I reached 1,000 posts and I got tired of people asking me what “bjh” means so I came up with a new handle: B.J. Halo. After an other 1,000 posts I got tired of this one also. Besides, it is so uncreative. Nothing like I have read in the above posts. So, I had to be real creative this time and came up with Barnabas. It was difficult, and I spent a lot of time choosing the right handle but eventually stuck with the name of the ancient co-worker of the Apostle Paul, Barnabas. I believe that eventually I must have swayed by the fact that my real name is Barnabas J. Halo. It always was, and it always will be until the Lord calls me – and then He will give me a new name of which “no man knoweth” (Rev. 2:17). [IMG]

So, do we all have to come up with new names after 1,000 posts? At my rate, this won't be a problem. :D

No, you don't have to Lady of the Purple. But if you want to, there is no law against it. ;)

My original "screen name" came about the same as Joshua said, because of the old limit of eight characters without a space, and was my proverbial login name: "wellsjs" which was because jswells was already taken.

Joy2 just changed her name before my very eyes to "Joy." What's this world coming to?

    Superdave is because I am,

    Dave that is.

What can I say. It is a nickname that stuck, so I use it here as well. It started in college and was re-enacted when there were 3 Daves on my church softball team.

**The aformentioned screen name is in no manner a statement of worth for the individual it represents and any resemblance to his actual character is unintentional. It is not intended to make any posters on this or any other board feel "un-super" and should not be taken as any form of bragging or condescension.

Although I would have to admit that... ;)

The only disciple in the NT that was so "minor" that the Gospel writers confused his name and his nickname was Natan'el bar Tholmai.

It is Nathaniel and Bartholomew in the various Gospels. Same guy. He was a no name who happened to be from the elite of the elite school of training under Tholmai. These guys were often just called Bar Tholmais like we call people "Phi Beta Kappa" or "Rhodes Scholars".

I am like that no name disciple. Try to use my knowledge and training, but not trying to draw attention to myself like some do on the Baptist Board!

I was assigned this name at work for signing into the computer system. It is a combo of my first and last name. Then I had to sign into two other systems at work, plus I have to sign into this board and countless other places on the internet. If I use different sign-ins in different places, I lose track of them and cannot get into anything! So, I am and must remain Swaimj!

I chose the name "Grace" because I was saved through God's Grace. My name, Jessica, means "Blessed One" and I truly am.

I use different katies on line. Kate, Katie, KateB(as in Bond, I'm a big James Bond fan).
I got it from a doll my son recieved for a gag gift in school in his senior year. It sits on his shelf, in his room, which is where I was when I made up the name. Now I have my own computer. And I still have katie.
My real name, Donna, means,A Lady.

Lot of interesting stories, My original s'name was "USER" (I use to use powwow chat, I miss it too) I took it from a cartoon my children use to watch. I dont remember the name of it ; but it was about the electronic players in a computer game. the human person that played the game was called the user. I don't play games; but i am this machine's "USER". I took it and ran with it.
Funny thing, people thought it had something to do with my personality, imagine that.
My name is James, Pleased to meet you. [IMG]

Danette is pretty obvious -- who would think that up as a fake?

When I was a kid I hated my name because it was "weird". Then when I was a teenager I found out that my name meant "The Lord is my Judge" -- a female derivative of Daniel. That made me hate it more. It seemed like such a perfect moniker for the way I felt -- perpetually judged and condemned by God and everyone else. When I was 27 there came a day when I realized that as a believer (since I was 5 yrs old) God had exonerated me of all charges, He sees me hidden in Christ, when He looks at me He sees His righteousness reflected because Christ's sacrifice paid all the penalty for all my sin and since there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, He does not judge me in a negative way with shame or condemnation attached. Now I love my name! It's absolutely perfect.
