Baptist Board includes a built-in search engine that allows members/visitors to search through the stored posts. Searching is a server-intensive process, however.

Searching through all forums at once can drain the server, though it is convenient for users. I turned off the ability to search through all forums at once but allowed members/users to search, but only one forum at a time.

Q1: How often do you use the search function?
Q2: Would you like to be able to search through all forums at once or is the current setting OK?

I never used it. I didn't know what it was, nor why I should use it.

I've only used it once or twice in the last year.

I've used it. I would like all forums if possible.

Oh, cool. I just took the time to look at it. If I were picking and choosing, I would say All Forums.

Since I am constantly forgetting where I posted what, I use the search on all sites that I moderate.

But only rarely, since most of what I have to say isn't worth reading the first time! [IMG]

Come, come, Dr. Griffin. If we wouldn't have your postings this place would be pretty dull! Judging by your postings all over the BBc, one can surmise that you were not baptized in pickle juice. You have the natural joy of the Lord in your heart, and it permiates throughout your writings. Occasionally I have to hang onto myself, and contain myself, so that wouldn't fall of the chair from laughter. You are a blessing to may who are able visit BBc and read your comments. Keep up the good work and God bless! [IMG]

I would like the ability to be able to type in the name of a member and be able to access all his/her posts in any forum.

And I echo Barnabas' sentiments about Dr.Bob!

Finally, Dr. Bob posts something I agree with. I read Dr. Bob for the self-aggrandizing statements and the intellectual critiques. Just kidding, Dr. Bob. I am trying to add a little meanness to this forum too. But it does seem to me that Halo is trying to construct for himself a "halo" with his garnished compliments to you. Don't let it go to your head. Judging by your picture on the Grif.net, your head can't take much more swelling anyway.

Feeling mean after driving back from Houston all day....

Would this be an average posting on your part on FFF, "FundamentalDan?" :D

More or less. I love to deal in sarcasm, as I have spent years of my life developing it to an art. That is why they call the FFF the "Baptist food fight." It is because of renegades like me.

BJ - We all try to be nice to Dan on the ol FFF, so I guess I will continue my gift of charity and be nice to him here as well. [IMG]

After all the Bible says, "Comfort the feebleminded . . "

It appears that the search feature is not an often used feature, so I won't change the setting.

Elisabeth, you can do this by going to the person's profile and selecting the "View Recent Posts" link (top right corner).

    Hope this helps.
