A New Alliance Of Democrats Spreads Funding
But Some in Party Bristle At Secrecy and Liberal Tilt

    EXCERPT

An alliance of nearly a hundred of the nation's wealthiest donors is roiling Democratic political circles, directing more than $50 million in the past nine months to liberal think tanks and advocacy groups in what organizers say is the first installment of a long-term campaign to compete more aggressively against conservatives.

A year after its founding, Democracy Alliance has followed up on its pledge to become a major power in the liberal movement. It has lavished millions on groups that have been willing to submit to its extensive screening process and its demands for secrecy.

These include the Center for American Progress, a think tank with an unabashed partisan edge, as well as Media Matters for America, which tracks what it sees as conservative bias in the news media. Several alliance donors are negotiating a major investment in Air America, a liberal talk-radio network.

But the large checks and demanding style wielded by Democracy Alliance organizers in recent months have caused unease among Washington's community of Democratic-linked organizations. The alliance has required organizations that receive its endorsement to sign agreements shielding the identity of donors. Public interest groups said the alliance represents a large source of undisclosed and unaccountable political influence.

I'm all for the liberal tilt, but I don't care for the secrecy.

I am not for the secrecy, the money buying politics that are a threat to American interests, or the liberal politics.

What liberal is now makes old fashioned communism look like hitler youth.

Not since Hitler have scientists tried to alter genetics & used genocide to remove hundreds of thousands of civilians per year. Yet, our modern liberal machine has moved so far to the left, that they consider genetic purification & fetal elimination normal.

Genocide & genetic experimentation were hallmarks of Nazism. Hitler youth were hallmarks of his regime. If the liberal has moved so far to the left that they are practicing what the extreme right once tried.

Ironically, the liberal agenda first removed the MILLIONS of CHRISTIANS from history that Hitler put through his gas chambers. Now they are removing Christians from American history.

I.e., the liberal agenda has moved so far to the left, that communism is now as far to the right as fascism used to be from 'liberal'.

It's a little ironic that the democrat party is being bought by the same type of corporate profiteers democrats believe already own the Republican party.

Soros et al already believe they own the democrat party. Why the secrecy? They apparently don't want rank rank and file democrats to know that an "elite" group of rich guys have bought the party.

The liberals I know do not practice genocide.

Liberals are, generally, in favor of genetic experiments, not to wipe out populations but to improve the lives of individuals.

That's not in the Liberal Handbook - where do you get that that is the liberal "agenda"?

Most liberals I know are in favor of limited socialism (food, clothing, medical care and housing for the indigent, social security, progressive taxation, etc.) Fascists put the state or society first; liberals tend to put individuals first. I don't see your equation at all.

Problem is, Daisy, "limited socialism" never stays limited for long. :tongue3:

I think you have your political poles slightly reversed.

Both Socialism and Fascism attempt to better 'society', i.e., the 'country'. But, Socialism does so by making the state run business the controlling factor. Fascism does so by making the businesses the controlling factor. At the extreme ends, both socialism and fascism become totalitarian (russia and nazi germany).

Further, liberals do (& have loudly) endorce(d) mass killing - they just call it 'abortion' instead of 'genocide'. Either way, an entire class of infants are murdered.

Surely that can't mean what it sounds like!

Sounds like an excerpt from Hitler's handbook, softpedaled to make it more palatable to the masses.

Do liberals "generally" play God now?

I believe that liberals do not hear their own voices as they speak.

A century ago - liberals were against: abortion; divorce; adultery; pornography; pre-marital sex; homosexuality; drug use; and many other things that we are now told to consider 'moderate'; 'normal'; or 'main stream'.

Left has gone from tolerable to almost spiteful.

I have to disagree with that... the left is more than "almost" spiteful ;)

Are you confusing "eugenics" with "genetics"?

    You're confusing fascism with capitalism.

It isn't mass killing or genocide - it's individualized killing.

Could be...as far as the Hitler comment, but they are very closely related and my statement about playing God is more in line with genetics and appropriately applied to liberals, it appears.

At least you made no attempt to deny it.

First, do a quick google - get a grasp of the semantic range of the terms (politically) and then go to dictionary.com and get a definition of the words. My definitions, comparisons, and contrasts should be easily grasped.

The definition of the word used doesn't matter one way or the other to the millions of babies that have been murdered - one at a time or all at once. THEIR BLOOD cries to my Father. Our country will be judged for OUR collective SIN OF MURDER.

The definition of a word does not change the crime, the guilt, nor the punishment.

This looks like "in order to beat them, we have to become like them." thinking.

Consider what that kind of thinking in the WH and Congress has done for America in the last few years.

    No thank you.

I don't agree; in fact, it seems to me that it is the extreme form that doesn't stay around for long.

If Christians are removed from American history, all you have left is a bunch of Indians (and maybe the Deists, a few Jews and an atheist here and there). What has been removed is the differences between Christian and Christian, Pilgrim and Puritan.

    Grasped, but not agreed with.

Granted, except that the whole Nazi-fascist comparison is based on mass-murder and genocide - which this is not.
