    Rice: Lebanon cease-fire would be 'false promise'​

    WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, heading for a weekend trip to the troubled Middle East, said she would work with allies in the region to help create conditions for "stability and lasting peace."

    She ruled out a quick cease-fire as a "false promise" and defended her decision not to talk to officials from Hezbollah or Syria.

    "Syria knows what it needs to do and Hezbollah is the source of the problem," Rice said at the State Department as she outlined U.S. hopes for a diplomatic solution to the current crisis.

    Referring to Hezbollah as "the source of the problem," she called for the immediate release of the two Israeli soldiers abducted in a cross-border Hezbollah raid.

    What's the difference? President Bush's Presidency has been one FALSE PROMISE after another. so, what the heck does it matter?

    The Bush administration has been spot on during this Israel vs. Hezbollah/Hamas war. I see no reason why it will not continue to do the right thing as they have apparently tossed overboard the failed policies of our past presidents and Secretaries of State regarding Israel.
