Oh, Saggywoman! It was very entertaining at
times, but everyone dying is not romantic to me.
Nice music. Violent. I saw it so long ago that
I cannot tell you anything about language. Great
    choreography.

I enjyoyed it. It's a little dated, now, but a good movie.

I never saw it, (ok, I did once but wasn't really watching) but read the screenplay in drama class and if I remember right I did a part of Maria's act for a test.
I wouldn't call it romantic, I hate watching or reading about death, especially when it doesn't happen for a good reason. Blood and guts usually end any romantic notions pretty quickly for me.

Based on Shakespear's great play, of course. And it does well. The dancing and acting is very good.

I saw it live on stage several years ago and plan on going this week when it is back here in the Motor City. I enjoyed it very much. I have never seen the movie version and don't really care to. The stage version (if done by professionals) is much more involved. The rape scene is one of the most intense moments I have ever experienced. A packed house of close to 5,000 were deathly silent.

Seen it both on stage and on the video screen. Enjoyed both times.

SAGGY - "Date Night?"

Talk to me, child. West Side Story is a great adaptation from 1960ish, so is hokey in some areas, but the music is timeless.

When Maria starts singing, "Tonight . . " you'd better be prepared for an arm around the shoulders if he is ANY sort of manly man! [IMG]

    We went this weekend.

Definitely the rape scene was deafeningly quiet in the audience.

I didn't have enough closure with the way it ended....
