Beto o' Rourke committed political suicide. I am for an assault weapons ban like the old one, but that is now, likely, impossible. The Dems are being weasels to an independent like me, they do want to confiscate guns. It seems there is no middle ground on this issue among elected officials.

 

Next Roberto O'Rourke will want alcohol probition so he himself won't drive drunk again and cause another wreck as he did last time that he was caught. Maybe he is just another recovering addict who is angry at people who don't want him around anymore.

Notice the Dems don't have any American flags at their debates.

2. AR15s are almost never used in crimes.

3. AR15s are popular with the elderly and women for home defense because they have low recoil.

 

Informative, I see my problem is with magazines since an ar 15 is just a semi auto rifle.

 

This guy is SUCH a liar! His premises of "mandatory buy-back" of "weapons of war" - anyone with a clue of his reality understands this as a ploy of "confiscation of all semi-automatic weapons". AND Hell Yeah, you can bet we aren't going to let these lies be shoved down our throats without a fight!

Assault weapons do not exist. There is no such thing. It is a contrived term.

I agree it is just semi auto rifles, church mouse guy set me straight. My beef is with magazine capacity.

 

We should have as many magazines with as many bullets as we can afford.

 

The ability to create a custom magazine will circumvent any law that is put on the books.

 

I see I need to do more research on magazines, especially given the creation of large capacity magazines secretly by using 3D printers.

 

There are other ways to alter magazines to increase capacity. The point is that all the government can do is make laws. If the Democrats are successful in outlawing AR-15's the real problem they will have is enforcement.

 

Bingo! The cat is out of the bag with todays technology. Make such things illegal and the black market will pick up the slack - whoever really wants them will have no problem getting them.

Hey, I have an idea, let's pass a law that makes killing someone that is not justifiable in the legal sense a crime - we could call it murder.

 

That's right! The Dems have been saying that we can't round up the 11 million Mexicans and others from south of the border who are here illegally and deport them, yet they think they can round up 50 to 100 million "assault" rifles? Good luck on that one Dems.

 

He wasn't going anywhere anyway. He is out of his league in thinking that he is qualified to be our President. The most he is up to is to being is an assistant manager at a skateboard park in Austin.

 

Roberto O'Rourko, a poor little rich kid, says that we have been putting people in concentration camps so it sounds as if we need guns now more than ever.

 

But O'Rourke has done conservatives a great service. In his attempt to remain relevant in the Democrat presidential nominee race, he has played into the hands of 2nd Amendment proponents. He has said he is coming for our weapons. It is going to be very hard for other Democrats to back peddle on this because they share O'Rourke's opinion. This will play well in states like New York, Massachusetts, and California but not so much in states like Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, and Ohio.
