I have been reading Share Jesus Without Fear and wonder what you think of it. I recently had a witnessing encounter with someone at a gas station named Robby. He twice mentioned my Bible and I decided he might want me to talk with him. I used the Share Jesus questions: Do you have any spiritual beliefs? Do you...? Where would you? ect. until he gave me pemission to open up my Bible. I used the Share Jesus principals in having him read scripture aloud then I presented the gospel in a Way of the Master format. Anyway, I was just wondering what you think of Shar Jesus Without Fear.

I like Share Jesus Without Fear. To me, it lends itself to natural converations. Not like its memorized or preplanned.

I really like share Jesus without fear. I especially like how it does not quiz the person or make them feel like they are inferior. I also like how it pretty much makes the job of the evangelizer one of sharing scripture. You don't have to have a theology degree, you're just the "page turner" trying to stay out of the way of the Holy Spirit.

The only problem I've ever had with it is that it is an awful lot of scripture and I always thought that might be tough to digest for a lost person.

Never heard of it! I guess they don't have it in Japan. But it sounds like it's a good plan. IMO, any plan that gets you witnessing is good! God can help the willing heart.

My husband helped lead his bother to Christ using this. His brother became broken by reading the verses himself, instead of my husband reading it to him. There is power in reading the Word yourself, and speaking it out loud. It is also helpful having someone right there to help you understand the scriptures. Reminds me of Philip and the Ethiopian in Acts 8:26-40.

Our church went through the study and it was really good.
Gave all of us some good ideas.
I would like to go through the Way of the Master by Ray Comfort in the near future. It's a good thing to have different ways of sharing because we are all different and going through the various studies reminds us of the command to share!

And yes it can be done on Wednesday nights..

I actually came back and presented it to the church on the following Sunday evening.

Its basically showing you some ways to witness to people by showing them that they are sinners by asking them if they keep the commandments.
Have you ever lied, stole something or lusted after someone etc..
By letting them by their own confession say they are a sinner you can then tell them the gospel.
They have a website where you can watch them witness on the street.

I have used the SJWOF many times, taught it to churches that were wanting to be trained in using some form of evangelism.

I really like it for person to person. I like the fact THEY read the scriptures and tell YOU what the scriptures says. There is no arguing as they are telling you.

    Great material!!

Briefly? I don't think that there is a long format:

You make the person look like a fool, and you tell them that they are an evil person getting ready to BURN IN HELL.

Then after they tremble in fear, you share the 'love of Jesus'.

Am I a little sarcastic with that? Yes, but is that what they teach? Yes.

It impressed me about as much as soggy day old cheerios . . . and probably only a little bit more spiritually nutritious.

PS - it was either Mordecai Ham or Billy Sunday (I really think it was mordecai) that led countless evil men to Christ.

And while he was genuinely 'aggressive' when he told several men, "I am praying that God will kill you tonight. Would you rather that I pray that God would save your soul tonight?"

One had a gun on him. Another had a knife on him . . . and several others confronted him, and then told Mordecai that they were gonna kill him, or they were gonna lynch him, or they were gonna tar and feather him and run him outta town on the rail line . . . .

I think that being so sold out on bringing sinners into the Kingdom that the siners COME AFTER YOU might justify some Holy spiritual aggression. I think that calling someone a lying cheating thief to make yourself look & feel good about your not being a lying cheating thief is unnecessary & unhealthy spiritual aggression.

    IMHO.

i'm curious, what is so wrong with getting people to the point that they see they NEED salvation because they have sinned and fell short of God's glory?

I totally agree with you here that it is hard for a spiritually dead person to understand Scripture. I disagree that this is a problem when the Holy Spirit regenerates the lost soul and convicts them of their sin.

I was going to respond to this, then I found the following quote on another forum. I couldn't have said it any better than this guy does:
