May God bless Mr. Sharon's efforts to bring a better future to the children of the Israelis and the Palestinians. [IMG]

I hope it works...but I do think he might be repeating some mistakes of Oslo. What major move is Abbas going to make to ensure that members of Hamas are not part of the new government, to disarm terrorists? Do you know of any concrete plan to carry this out and a timeline for it? We will see.

Abbas is not going to make any moves until after the Palestinian elections in January.

I hope you are right and my pessimism is unwarranted.

We will see what he actually does.

This clears any doubt in my mind about Sharon. How a PM can go from Israel’s’ major conservative party to forming a liberal party is beyond me. Something stinks. :(

Mr. Sharon calls it "liberal" but I think it's really going to be more of a centrist party in Israel between the left wing Labor Party and the right wing Likud Party.

I think it would be nice if we had a centrist party in our presidential elections.

Why do you think he chose the word "liberal" to exemplify his future party? Surely he knows political terminology.

Political terms in other countries do not always carry the same connotation as in the U.S.

The Bible tells us there will be no peace until the antichrist is revealed. This is not to say that Sharon might be a part of this someday, but his actions alone will not bring peace.

Hopefully by the grace of God the Israelis and the Palestinians will one day live peacefully side by side in separate States. Perhaps Sharon will be someone that God will continue to use to bring this about, as well as Abbas perhaps. [IMG]

I hope you are right, Ken.

But, I am not sure Sharon is going about this the right way.
