I found out about what KJVOism is, and I have to tell you I am a KJVOist, and I personaly find it correct to be one since the KJV Bible is the only Bible that is 99.9% historically accurate, on the count of the .1% that is in unforfilled prophicies I find the KJV to be the one and only Bible that is to be used and studied by Baptist.

Boy I wish I had your number.

I am done with this post. it is clear to see that those of you who are debating with me are only doing so to get your points across and you have no true interests in being open to new concepts (that being the bible). So I will leave you with this, read Titus 2:3-5 (KJV).

P.S I love and respect you all but some of you are in need of repentence.

I have read all of the postings on this subject and never once did I read an appeal to Proverbs 31 about a woman having servants and buying a field and planting it. Show me from Prov. 31 that the woman mentioned who happens to be an excellent wife does not work outside of the home.

I know a man and his wife who worked, so they could give to missionaries and help others. They regularly discipled people. Many times it was not unusual for them to have at least 15 people over for lunch on Sunday. How's that for dedication and commitment? When he died she did not have enough to pay for a very good funeral. But in between the time she picked out the casket and paid for it, one of the people her husband built a home for paid the entire funeral. At the funeral were many of the town adminstrators and the lumber yard (where he was a customer) closed for the funeral. There were about 640 people there. Many of whom gave testimony after testimony of how they were reached by him. So many are pastors and on the mission field because of that couple. They gave their life for the gospel.

My mother worked most of my childhood and until the farm was sold. My grandmother worked too. Both my parents and grandparents were dairy farmers. We found time to help others and do well in school. Not one of us has ever been without work.

Even though I am finished with this thread I suppose I could answer one last post. What have been arguing is not that women should not own a business, but that they should not let that be there primary focuse when I say that I mean that they should not set aside doing the laundry to pay the bills, and further more take note to the fact she was self employed, meaning she could fix her work schedual according to her house work schedual.

Being at a university I see many students whose parents have done verything for them including pay their bills. There must be delegation to the children too. Since I was in fourth grade I could cook a meal and do laundry. Later I learned to iron clothes and do some sewing. So if my wife needs help today I can pitch in and do whatever she needs.

I do not see the home as so much a clear divison of labor as do whatever needs to be done. When the leaves need raking we do it together. When the lawn needs to be mowed whoever has the time does it.When the house needs work everyone works on it. Certainly everyone does their own chores. But we don't leave it up to the person who needs to get it done. If the person needs help we pitch in and get it done. My life growing up was that way. Our entire family worked outside milking the cows and feeding them. During the summer everyone put up hay. All of us worked inside and outside. All of us did canning too. When the winter time came we spent more time inside doing household things.

I would agree with what you just said if there was no such thing as affirmative action, but since there is, we can only conclude that some people are promoted because of there gender, or race, specifically women, and African Americans.

P.S working because your husband is sick is not an act of faith getting on your knees and praying is, my Bible says what is not of faith is sin.

</font>
Fish, I can tell you my wife goes out and works by faith...I'm disabled and can't work and she is the primary bread winner. If you're trying to say she doesn't have faith that God provided the job, you're just plain foolish. God wants us to use our common sense as well as the Bible. The Bible NOWHERE states that a wife/mother cannot work. In fact, it says quite the opposite. Read Proverbs 31. I think you're putting the cart before the horse, and as someone who IS married (you stated you weren't) and has been so for nearly 21 years, I would have to say you are quite niave on the subject. Your giving advice, or even your opinion on this subject is about as valid as a Catholic priest or a divorced person giving advice on how to have a successful marriage.

Fish, those verses do not command a woman NOT to work. They do command the woman to be keepers at home, and many women can work an outside job and be a keeper at home with no problem. I know my mother had no problem. Your judgemental/unjustified and accusatory attitude (stating that people here are in need of new concepts, implying they don't live by the Bible when they do) towards people here, stating that they need repentence is just the type of hype one would expect to find from an KJVonlyist who doesn't rightly divide the Word, but rather tries to twist it to fit their own philosophies instead of making their philosophies fit the Bible. I believe you would be the one in need of repentence, speaking on a subject you know practically nothing of, not being married. Don't mean to be rude, but just to the point.

So does that mean that God gave us the nature to sin? you know lying, stealing, killing, and if so does that mean God wants us to sin?

</font>
You are comparing apples and oranges. But, what would one expect from someone who knows little to nothing on the subject and who cannot or will not compare scripture with scripture, but instead tries to make a doctrine of a few verses?

KJVOism is false doctrine, as it is not supported by scripture. Your "99.9%" comment is completely subjective and inaccurate, based perhaps on what you might have read on a KJVO site. The KJV is a good translation, but its language is outdated, and use of its language according to contemporary rules of grammar can (and do) sometimes lead to minor errors in teaching.

Now, back to the topic. There is no scriptural support for the idea that women are forbidden from working. Many presume that "keeper at home" is akin to "stay in the home". This is not scripturally correct.

The Homemaker’s Value

If women choose not to do this very special job,
it will simply not get done,
the mothering, the nurturing, the comforting and caring
that fills the committed homemaker’s day
will simply be lost,
and society will be impoverished.
Children will not get the spiritual guidance they need.
Lonely teenagers will not be listened to.
Many people with problems will not be ministered to,
many sick folk will go unvisited.
A special human quality will disappear from our culture.
Women can give up their jobs
as clerks, engineers, sales people, doctors --
other people will step in
and the world will go on as smoothly as before.
It will be business as usual.
The groceries will still be sold,
trucks loaded with merchandise will still roll across our highway,
and Wall Street will carry on.
Not so with homemaking.
Homemakers are the special people in whose hands
the country and the world have been entrusted.
When women leave this job the world does not go on as before.
It falters and begins to lose its way.
Homemakers are indispensable!

A stay at home mom sent me this after I'd shut down last night for me to share here. I wonder how many agree that a woman's place is in the home but don't want to debate.

Why is it all right for a single woman or a widow or a divorcee to work outside the home, but not a married woman?

Woman in the Bible is WOMAN. It makes no distinction.

Is it all right for the 'unfortunate' ones who have not yet married or been widowed or divorced to go out and scrounge for a living, but not the married woman because she has a higher calling?

I agree with Johnv. A woman can be a 'keeper at home' and also work outside the home.

I know - because I am one...
