Should Army E-4 Michael New be pardoned

    Sevaral years ago, Sp4 New refused to wear the UN blue cap as (illegaly ?) ordered.Should President Bush pardon him?From the link page

    Yes he should be pardoned, putting someone in jail for not wearing a hat is stupid.

    But I must add If the President tells you to do anything that isn't anti-Christian you should be in submission to him, even when you don't him or the stupidity of his commands. In short it is not a sin to wear a UN hat, but if the president tells you to, it is probably a sin not to.

    He wasn't put in jail. But, he did receive a bad conduct discharge. I have mixed feelings. A lawful order is a lawful order. Do your time and then get out if you don't agree. I was in the Army in the 80's and there were guys serving on U.N. missions so it's not like this was a unique incident.
