So is anyone that is so wrapped up in participating in politics and the idea that God ordains governmental systems going to answer my question? Were the people that rebelled against Hitler committing a sin?

HP: Tell me what their motives were for rebelling and I will tell you if they were justified. If their motives were to uphold righteousness and stop the slaughter of the innocents, they were completely justified in their rebellion.

God hates sin, unrighteousness and wickedness wherever it is found. Just because He allows certain men to gain the throne, in no way denotes that God ordains the wicked acts they committ or orchestrates such wickedness. We serve a Loving, Just, Holy and Righteous God.

Can God use a Doctor to heal someone? Of course. he can also use us with our voting to place the person God chooses in to power.

We live in a fallen world so of course NO governmental system is perfect and sometimes we have to vote for the lesser evil. I know that it is hard to fathom but not voting is even worse (as long as you use Biblical values when you vote).

By saying we shouldn't vote you are saying we should have a dictatorship whether you mean it this way or not.

Also a lot of the problems we have with politicians is BECAUSE Christians don't get involved and let their voice be heard.

Sorry HP but that is not consistent. If God ordains the government then its not okay for them to rebel for any reason becuase they are rebelling against a God ordained government. And if God ordains it then it must be followed regardless.

God sets up the rulers, but the governmental systems are not ordained by Him else we would be in a no win situation if asked to do something by the government that contradicted God's Word.

Again the matter should be simple enough. This world is not our home. We are aliens and pilgrims here. We should not be entangled with the affiars of a world that we are not even citizens of. Our battle is not with flesh and blood. Our battle is a spiritual battle on a spiritual battlefield.

Joe Blow congressman or Sally Que judge is not my enemy, but rather the evil forces of darkness in the heavenlies.

It doesn't matter whether I vote or not God is going to put into political office exactly Who He wants in there. He has asked us as believers to not worry about those things and just continue to walk in faith and walk in the Spirit no matter what happens to the government.

But what you are saying is God needs our help. God doesn't need our help, nor does He need our vote.

That's my whole point. And it amazes me how many people will agree with this statement yet choose to continue to play a corrupt game. It's a flawed system and is not capable of being fixed, so why waste time and effort when we can be focused on a coming government that is perfect and we can focus on whether or not we can be a part of it and share with others how to be a part of it.

This world is corrupt and fallen and 5,000,0000 votes aren't going to change it. Man is not going to fix the problem and the sooner we get that in our heads the better of we are going to be.

Again how is not doing something that we shouldn't be doing a worse thing?

Others may, but I'm certainly not. Just because one doesn't play the political game doesn't mean they want to be under a Fidel Castro or a Saddam. However, with that being said if it was to happen it wouldn't change anything other than lifestyle.

Again a flawed conclusion. The problems we have are because of sin and an unwillingness to deal with sin on the part of fallen man. And that has bombarded the doors of Christendom and "Christians" aren't willing to address sin anymore either. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the political system or a lack of participation.

I have participated in the voting fraud/process and I have not, in my lifetime, seen freedom expanded rather, I have seen freedom gradually taken from U.S. citizens by those that have been "elected" to office. Those elected, have a greater loyalty to money and international interests than they have to those that "elect" them.

What freedoms do we enjoy when there are so few things that we can do without the state granting us permission? What freedom do we posess when Caeser takes 50% of our wealth? What freedom do we have when Caeser can steal our property and give it to a commercial interest that will profit better off of it? Many states have banned citizens from their second amendment right to bear arms, where's their freedom? Where's the freedom for the citizens who are being searched and felt-up without cause or warrants at the airports and on subways? Our republic was set-up in a manner that these rights would not be infringed upon but they are being stripped from us daily and few seemed bothered by it, so long as they have the illusion of safety.

Nothing wrong with voting if you believe it to have benefit. However, the suggestion that patriots who do not vote do not deserve freedom, is in error. Freedom was guaranteed by a document that was not to be overturned by wicked democracies. No vote ever should have impacted our constitution and our bill of rights guaranteeing us our freedoms. "Freedom" has become a cheap tag line from a time that is long forgotten.

If you believe that you can benefit the Kingdom of God by staying involved in the process, then I wish you Godspeed. As for me, short of the people turning off their idols and waking up in repetance, whatever this nation was is lost, and I pray for the return of the anointed one who will bring liberty to the captives.

HP: For the sake of clarification, can I simply say that I was really not speaking about anyone else but President Bush? :tonofbricks:

Seriously, just because I feel that one does not deserve to live under freedom, one should by no means assume that I believe such a one should not live here. Many in this nation do not vote that are part of religious organizations such as Mennonites, Amish, and many others. These are hard working moral individuals that are an asset to our nation and make great neighbors. I am proud to call them my friends and fellow Americans in spite of there insistence of not participating in our government and refusing to vote. This is where grace trumps that which I feel they do not deserve. I would agree with my father who once stated that he would fight to protect their rights not to participate in our government.

God has shown us grace when we did not deserve it, and it is just, in the case of these moral and good people, that grace is generously extended by myself to them as well, over the voting issue. I consider them my brethren in the Lord and friends regardless how they view me.

JJ, and others who may not vote, if you are law abiding citizens and morally upstanding individuals, I am still honored to call you my fellow citizens. Do all that your conscience will allow you to do and nothing more. I will pray for your conscience. Pray with everything you have in you for this nation. We are indeed a needy people and nation.
