That is very well possible. We do have a very large Mexican population.

Of course, all of the flags that I've seen lowered are on businesses, etc scattered along the highway. Plus, we have about 10 large car dealerships between my house and Houston-proper, all with their giant flags lowered, so many it's just the dealerships that are doing it and it's just very noticeable. ;)

I still don't see anything wrong with it. He was the current leader of an allied country and he was also a great humanitarian, doing much good for the poor, destitute, and "enslaved"(by communism) people all over the world.

People like that should be honored regardless of their religion.

As a former military member, I learned that flags can be lowered to half-staff for ANYBODY, as declared by the President. Therefore, if our President wishes the flags to be lowered, so be it.

The flags in Oklahoma are being lowered to half-staff this week in memory of the victims of the Oklahoma City Bombing.

"No; primarily because this is government respecting an establishment of religion in a way not done for other religions "

Assuming the USgov. will lower the flags when the queen of the U.K. dies the answer above is incorrect. After all she is also officially both a head of state and the head of a church (Anglicanism in her case).
