Should the US boycott the Olympics?

    An Olympic boycott would not be an effective means of addressing Chinese civil rights violations.

    As much as I dislike China's policies I disagree with boycotting the Olympics. I disagreed with Carter in boycotting in Russia too. In the end, its the athletes who are hurt and not the country being boycotted. Boycotting Russia didn't change a thing. It took rebuilding our military and refusing to back down. That's the only language that some folks in the world understand.

    The 1980 Moscow boycott, and the USSR's "payback" in 1984, accomplished nothing.
