Sometimes it is hard to grasp why what is just a usual function of life becomes a subject that requires a college degree and thesis to understand. If you want a scientific explanation, here is a formula.

    1. Find a date.
    2. Fall in love
    3 Become engaged
    4. Buy a ring
    5. Get a marriage license
    6. Get married

For those who need an explanation of step 7, see Song of Solomon.

There have been tons of what ifs in the thread. To say someone physically unable to complete this or that act, and that creates a third catagory (the first two being married and unmarried) is kind of insane to put it nicely.

All of the what ifs are not needed. God is quite clear what marriage is, how it is the basic structure of human society, and how a husband and wife are to treat each other. We all sin, but having a close walk with Christ, and treating your wife the Christ treated the church helps keep our lives pure.

I would say most if not all have failed when it comes to looks and thoughts (especially the male side), but to linger in guilt after the Lord has forgiven us for past sins, is destructive to the present marriage. Time to believe Jesus has forgiven and move on.

Cohabitation is immoral and can lead to problems, but it should be outside the role of legislation (especially federal).

Now, if there are problems with the relationship causing dispute over property or emotional anguish, that should be a matter for the local court to sort out. Perhaps they would realize that contracts (or better yet commitment between each other and to Jesus Christ) would prevent future problems and relieve the burden of the court.

Of course, I also believe there should be a "Loser Pays" tort reform where even the lawyer has to foot the bill in a loss. Such reform should reduce the number of frivolous lawsuits.

Then do you agree that polygamy should be legal?

    >And isn't the O/T expression "(insert biblical male name) took a wife..." ? >Once the relationship is consumated, they are married, in God's eyes.

Jesus said the same thing, the sex act creates a marriage.

Jesus said there was no marriage in Heaven. He never said their was no sexual activity in Heaven. It is our sin nature which "makes" some activities immoral in this life. No physical activity can be immoral in Heaven.

Should not be illegal but making it legal would require re-writing all the tax and welfare laws. First we eliminate income taxes . . . .

Like I have said before, we probably agree on a lot more than we disagree on, discussions on BB aside.

Obviously the Lord didn't condone the Love shack scenario.
