You all are mean. I have seen people who have there own opinion of something and if it is not according to the leader of the pact....you are just down right mean... I thought this was a message board about studying Gods word, questions about books read, understanding definitions in life, CHRISTIANS coming together in fellowship, and learning things from others about this life, debates and forums on Christ topics. But instead it is always I am a PaticularBaptist! There is no other like me. If your not this kind or that kind of Baptist then your words no good. I am a Baptist first...then I will be a child of God! I worship Baptist!!!!! I am sick of it. I haven't even been here long and that is all you hear. And it doesn't come from all the women......It is coming from Preachers....Deacons....Elders....and people who have been supposively saved for a while. If this is what being saved is.....Who wants it!
I am Baptist. But in all my life This is the only place I have heard so much of this garbage. What a turn off to new Christians or those who might have thought about being saved. What don't you save all your gun-hoe I am this kind of baptist for a paticular thread and leave it out of the others. It just ruins it all. No wonder there is only just a paticular group in here.

    Sherrie,
Don't take all this so seriously. We people are Baptists, but still only people. We have disagreements, but it's not life or death.
Plus, you can't read or write intent or feelings. Sometimes posts look mean when the author wasn't being so.
Just realize we all love God no matter what we disagree about.
    Peace

    Sherrie,
We are Baptists on this board. This is for Baptists only. I get angry, but I'm also saddened because we can see how diverse the Baptists are. Sometimes truth hurts, sometimes we don't like getting stepped on. But it grieves me to see the extent people will go to walk the line and stay as close to the world as possible. This is also the beauty of the USA. We have the right to say the things we believe. Just think of the aggrivation and oppression people of countries that don't have this right must be feeling.

Take a breather. We may disagree, we may get mad at each others beliefs, but I know that if we need prayer or in a deep trial, there is alot of believers we know we can go to so that these people in their own churches can be there for us.

    Sherrie --

Please don't be discouraged! I, especially, do
not want you to go, because I have had oppor-
tunity to interact with you and enjoyed it. I
don't want to see you posssibly become so
discouraged that you could just not return!

I came to this board with some fears, because
the Messianic believer is new to many, and we
are often treated as pagans by some believers,
but I came. My synagogue is Baptist-based,
so I thought I had a "right" to be here, but I admit
that sometimes, I even question that. Still, I don't
want to lose contact with the people here. I am
learning here, and people, for the most part,
really are wonderful here. I do not go to the
other forum I used to be on as much, because I
    feel more comfortable here.

About the debates, Sherrie, some of us love
debate, but our love for it does not separate us
from the one we are debating. My husband and
I have learned that debate is a GREAT tool for
helping us both get over the teachings we had
through both of us spending over 50 years in a
church we now recognize as a cult. Through
debate, we learn, we study, and we have
changed. We can do this, because we are, above
all things, friends who will not deliberately hurt
    one another.

Tthe only time debate becomes dangerous is
when tempers flare. Aalthough this never hap-
pens with my husband, it has happened here,
and when I see it coming on, I leave the thread.
    Anger, over-excitement, and divisive attitudes
cause the debator to lose objectivity.

Sherrie, please stay and put up with us! We are
all learning, and your input is valuable. Okay?

I am a PaticularBaptist! There is no other like me.[Sherrie]

"You're right! There is no other like me. Or you. Or anyone else on Board. I've grown to love everybody here even tho' I don't always see eye to eye with them on some things(nor they with me) & sure, we have our spit-spats; don't all families?

I was scared half to death when I first arrived, but finally *jumped* in & while I still can't swim, I can wade... [IMG] Sometimes it helps to send a private message to the one who is irking you. I have discovered that those you thought hated you the most, really like ya lots!

I love this place of refuge; it is my second home, but it is not my final Home! [IMG] I think everyone on here claim to love God with all their heart~some just walk a little closer with Him. ;)

God wants us to be a peculiar people, holy in walk and consecrated in heart. Each one of us has foes to face, obstacles to overcome and burdens to bear and we must trust our Lord daily for grace to meet the day's challenge. This Board gives me a place to practice on how to deal with the real world when & if the need ever arises.

*My prayer is as we read, believe and obey God's Word, He will bring true unity to pass. May the Lord bless you today, my sister.

Sherrie, you are right, girl. I've been thinking the same thing for months.

I was attacked (by another Baptist) about tongues the first couple of times I posted on here. That should have been a clue, but I'm hard-headed.

So I kept on posting. And then came the onslaught of attacks from the atheists, downright MEAN, INHUMAN attacks by them about everything from the existance of God to hell to the Constitution. Everytime I was on here I felt like I was under attack.

But they were FINALLY kicked off. (I think a few trolls infiltrate from time to time, however.) Maybe if it were mandatory upon registration for everyone to introduce themselves at the top & give a statement about their relationship with Jesus Christ, that could help filter out the disingenuous.

But, the meanness continues. And guess what, I'm ready to quit this board because of it.

THE WORST PART IS.....the meanness has rubbed off on me (and I am not a mean person). It is changing me and I don't like that and know it is not an example of Christ. And to those I've offended, I am truly sorry & ask your forgiveness.

Debating is one thing. Bickering, browbeating, baiting, and insulting are not Christ like & there is just too much of it on here.

So I haven't posted the past couple of days & wasn't going to post anymore until I saw your post. I agree with you 100%. Thanks for posting. You had the courage to post the thoughts & feelings I've had and I was too Chicken Little to post.

Thank you, Sister. God Bless You for your Courage.

Well, I will admit, that I got frustrated, when I saw the liberalism on a Baptist Board and was contemplating not posting again.

Then a couple of things came to me. Why are the conservatives not posting like the liberals? It's because they are doing the Lord's work, and also, because of the attacks of the liberals, is a tiring task.

It is more sickening for a Fundelmentalist to see Christianity turning liberal, then for a the liberals to see Fundemental conservatism!

As a rule of thumb, when the conservatives start something, the liberals will come in and try take it over, and most generally will succeed. They come in and accept our Baptist doctrines, and then start to water them down with their false doctrines.

It is usually very sutle in the beginning, they attack the dogmas first and then move to the major doctrines. And the Conservative Baptists that were either new Christians or just not taught yet, are easily swayed into the liberal pit of Satanic lies. And it is always spiraling down! Very seldom does it go the other way. :(

It is harder to climb uphill, then to run down hill!

Look at Harvard, Yale, Princeton and the rest of them. Good Christian colleges and universities, and now look at them, The Liberal Think Tanks of Our Time. :(

I have had people send me Private Mail and e-mail, saying that that were going to leave the board, because of these things. One message for you.

YOU CAN'T!!! THIS IS A BAPTIST BOARD!!!

We more then ever need to be a "Soldier of the Cross", against such liberalism. [IMG]

I am sorry you are upset, but I have to disagree. I think your statements are too sweeping. You are looking at small snapshots and overgeneralizing. I have been on this board for two years, and it changes all the time. I was on the board pre- Helen, rlvaughn, Clint, Saggy, and BrotherAdam. Boy, am I ancient! Of course, Dr. Bob,DocCas, and Barnabas are more elderly than that! And there really was a strong BB in the ancient days, too. Sure, there are going to be strong disagreements. This is not just a board where preachers post sermons and others then post, "Amen!' There are ALL kinds of Baptists on this board. Some are way more vocal than others.
I didn't have any idea how many different kinds there are until I joined.
I have never been flamed directly, but there are plenty of times general statements have been made that anyone with my views, on Calvinism to Christmas trees to the NIV, is either apostate or woefully ignorant. But not everybody, or even most people that disagree with me is like that. And it is contradictory to say that a particular group runs things and then that there is too much disagreement.
I am sure that rlvaughn and I could never go to the same church, but I consider him a model poster in form and content. There are a lot of points of view I understand better than I did, from people whose types I would never meet at church.
I have posted more recently, but at my rate of speed, I should hit 1000 posts by about 2011.
There are a number of people with as many or more posts than me who joined a couple of months ago.
But, a year from now, there will be a different apparent group.
I think the BB does a good job at making people think about what they believe. Whatever you say is not just going to be met with automatic acceptance. But there are certainly some people with more gracious posting styles than others.

I am very fond of the BB, but I try hard never to confuse it with real life. I learn a lot from here, but it does not replace personal prayer and study, and oh, yes, feedback from my husband, pastors, and church.

    Justified,
This is the very stuff I am talking about. God is not politics. He didn't send His son to run for office. He already was The Office!

This is a baptist forum. Everyone that is on this forum is Baptist or they can't be here. So all the other is not needed. Its foolish.

Lets get down to basics here! What is your parties responsibility? Once you become a member of your party...What is your responsibility?

And the opposing side? What is their responsibility?

Now lets not forget those that are running on a free ticket. Say like me! I am General Baptist. What is my responsibility once I am included on a ticket?

Then all those you really don't know...but they are not exactly like you, so you run them down to the ground..but they are still Baptist....whats their responsibility?

Don't you think all of this reminds you of something that really made Jesus mad while he was here. (Sadducees...Pharisees...Sanhedrin.)

Now Justified if you died right now someone who just came to this board saved or not....would never know you had a relationship with God, because you are too busy running for a party.

Do you know your responsibility yet? Its not running for a party first, and then being just like Jesus. Spreading the Hope that He said He would come back and get us. He only went to His Fathers house to prepare a place for us. Not just your party or the opposing side. But even my party! He went for all of us. Those who read KJV or those who read NKJV. Hey even those NIV people.

But when young and empressionable christians see all this garbage you continue to write and others, there is no example. Where is the love, the peace, the example of goodness in the center of an evil world?

What is it really about Justified? Who cares what kind of baptist you are....but are you saved, and what kind of a christian are you?

That is what it is really about!

    Sherrie,

I gave a brief disortation of the difference of Conservative Christianity and what happens when you mix Liberal Christianity with it. [IMG]

We all look at different things from different angles, as yours are different then mine. Did I say you were not saved? NO! But you insinuate that I am not, because of the way I see things.

    Interesting! [IMG]

Are you guilty of the very things that you are
    accusing me of? :D

I see White and Black, with no gray areas. For gray is the tainting and distancing from the white. The darker the gray, the more tainted and further from the white it gets. And closer to the black.

Er...Sherrie, not everyone posting on this board is Baptist.

Some say they are Baptist. (But how do any of us really know since we are going on an honor system here? )

Some say they are Baptist and something else, too.

Some say they are Baptist but hold very liberal views on many issues, unlike any Baptists I've ever known. Meaning they are for pro-choice, NOW, the ACLU, etc.

And some aren't Baptists at all and don't claim to be.

Just wanted to point that out.

I agree entirely with your first post.

I do not agree at all with your second post.

And I agree with Justified. (Were we soul mates in another life? ......JUST KIDDING!! LOL!!  LOL!! :D :D )

Did Jesus see things in gray? No, just black & white. He called the black what it was and then said, "Go and sin no more."

    Relax, Sherrie.
We are still on earth. We are not yet in heaven.
We are still subject to the weaknesses of flesh and sometimes get too carried away. In my early days here on this board, I was tempted to just forget I ever heard about it because guess where the wrong rub came from ? One of my own.
Think of this as a learning board. One where you can read others' stands and opinions with a grain of salt. No. Scratch that. Make it spoonfuls of salt.
There are a lot of beautiful Christians here, as already stated. I am a Particular Baptist. Electionist. To the core, because that is what I believe the Bible teaches. But, hey, I don't buy the stuff others say that if you don't believe in election, then you're probably not a child of God.
And then, you can just shy away from those discussion areas - particularly the Arminian/Calvinist forum, which, I think is what agitated you. It can be agitating for both sides, and I sympathize with you.
    Again, just relax.

Please Dont Leave Because you Find Indifferences in Peoples Attitudes. Yes This is A Baptist board. Any Religions Message Boards will contain the Same Kind of people with the same general differences in attitudes.

Please Dont Blame the people. doesnt the bible over and over tell us of the existence of Different Brothers and Sisters with varying degrees of Faith, and Wisdom, and Understanding. For And Against Each Other.... Believe It Or Not....yes ...In The Body Of Christ.

This Is A Learning Field, With Our Lord Directing The Classroom. Being Faced with The Differences allows us to continually be Guaging our own Choices as Men and women in Christ.

Good, Bad and Indifferent...Everybody Has To Face It. Sometimes we Find, we were The Bad Guys Even When We Didnt Know we were acting Against Ourselves and others.

That Is When Christ is Shining Through and offers mercy and forgiveness to All involved.

We All Started At One Time without intelligence of Who we were or What Choices were before us As innocent Babes in Christ.

Here in America, We Are Taught from birth to Compete. To Be The Best...No.1..
Envy and Jealosy..Pride in Self..Be All You Can Be.

These Unfortunately is Disasterous To The Christian Upbringing.

When Did Jesus Compete...or Was Envious..or Jealous..Trying To Be No.1

He Said...Take My Yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I Am meek and Lowly in Heart: and ye SHALL Find Rest unto your souls.

I Suggest Finding The People Who Have Found Rest and Fellowship with Them..The People who Havent Found Rest Will Be Here Too. They Will Still Be Competing and Striving with Each Other.

But we were all Like That....Sometimes in Our own Past.

Justified I was not implying you weren't saved. I was saying that being saved is what is important. And that we need to be examples for others. We need to constantly be sharing that Hope.

We can't always be bickering because one baptist is a litlle different than another baptist. We should have a thread just for those who want to talk about the different kinds of baptist.

Hey and Justified I am so very glad your saved!

But every time...and not you..but someone is alway....never mind its just no use. Just never mind.

I remember the Bible account where the Lord had risen and He was walking with some disciples and one looks back and sees the "disciple whom Jesus loved" and this brother asks the Lord (in our English today) - "Uh, what about him, Lord ? What's he gonna do" and the Lord replied and said
(again, in the way we speak today), "it's none of your business. If I want him not to die, can you do anything about that ?" and then the rumor went out that the Lord said that disciple is to live forever !
    Think about that !
And what about Paul and Peter having a spat, or
Paul and Barnabas (not the beloved poster here, mind you) splitting because of another who would rather rock and roll with the world than do the Lord's work ! I mean, the Bible didn't write down exactly what words were said, but, judging from Paul's temperament, they musta been smokin' hot !

    Please do, Sherrie--hang in there.

I sure hope it was not I who turned you off. If I
have done anything hurtful to anyone, I am
deeply sorry, and I apologize. I think, but I
could be wrong, that the only ones I have ruf-
    fled possibly permanently are Post-it--we
just don't see eye to eye-- and DHK (are
those the correct letters?)--whom I totally
unintentionaly bothered. I apologize to both
    of you.

I love this place and enjoy you people.
