    I don't think it's you, Abiyah.
You have always been a gentle soul, even in Crosswalk. [IMG]

Sherrie, I would like to add to what everyone else has said….. I vary somewhat with some of the brethren and sisters here, but I never feel hurt at them for our different opinions…. On the contrary, I have learned a great deal from the posters on this board…

Like you, I would never argue God’s word, but I love to debate topics that I feel strongly about… Although, I will not debate on the essential rudiments of the gospel…. I do think that we can differ in some scriptures and still walk as brothers….

I don’t know how long you have been in the service of God, but you will find out that even those of your own church will have disagreements… As you get older in Christ you will learn how to have patience with those that disagree with you, in hopes that they will finally see as you do, or visa-versa….….

When I was a young Christian, I remember that I used to debate the heart of the gospel, only to find out that I was the one in error…. I would have bet (my life, and I almost did) that I was in the right…. I wasn’t, and from that day on I have learned to never say never…. God (the Holy Ghost) is the ultimate judge and teacher….

I will stand on what I believe until God shows me a more perfect way…. In the meantime, I have learned a lot from listening to other brothers, who enjoy discussing God’s word as much as I do….

I wouldn’t care to say that the people here are some the most dedicated (and knowledgeable) Christians in God’s army… They don’t have to be spending their time on here discussing the Bible, but that is their #1 love…. Just my type of people… [IMG]

Hang in there with us Sherrie….

Christians in general will lash out at those who are different. But don't pick on each other, pick on me. Go to the Help topic in General, read up and attack!

Actually, Sherrie's probably talking about me. But that's okay. She wouldn't be the first person I ticked off this week (albeit, for different reasons....)

And Cappy? You're posting in the "Baptists Only" section (just a reminder, since you mentioned in the "Help" thread that you're really an atheist).

(Whoops; my bad. "Agnostic" would be a better description. "undecided" seems to be appropriate as well....)

Sherrie, Actually a positive thinking person is always needed in every group. Maybe that is why you were lead here, to be a smiling face in a difficult issue.
I disagree with some ideas that are posted here. I try to respond based on Scripture and my faith in Jesus Christ as savior. I believe some of my statements could be read as hostile, when they are not. I am sometimes state something bluntly when people are suggesting things that Scripture states that suggestion is wrong.
We do have a responcibility to new believers. That is why it is important to hash out doctrinal differences sometimes, and correct wrong Scriptural statements. If false teachings are not pointed out to be false, new believers and some old will suffer from poor teaching. Jesus used righteous anger to prove His point sometimes. He was still able to love everyone even though they dissappointed, rebelled from Him and betrayed Him. He should be our example, when we correct, do it through love for that person.

Please stay and show love to all, correct when neccisary.

I've left a few times. Always come back. I have been mean, and I have recieved meanness. I have seen the liberal attacks on our faith, and vow to not be a part of it. But the majority of us here stand strong on the Word of God, and fight apostasy, just like we are commanded. This board is a ministry, and we need to contend for our faith, expose heresy when we see it, and something I think we do forget to do is encourage each other in being faithful.

But I don't really feel guilty about everone that has been offended by one of my posts. I regret some of them, but I feel most of the time I'm taking a Biblical stance, and that is what offends.

    Sherrie,
Unfortunately, I agree with most of what you say. I have been here only a short time myself so I have not yet adjusted to this "den of lions." Perhaps, since this board is in reality opened up to anyone, since anyone can claim to be both a Christian and a Baptist, it is better not to take everything posted here too seriously. I know that if I had a real problem, this is not the place where I would seek help. It is sad because so many people (I must admit that I also fall into this group too often) feel that only their viewpoint of what the Bible says is the correct one. This is definitely not a place for the thin-skinned.

    go2church,

I have no problem getting along with other brothers and sisters in the Lord. hehehe :D

I will discuss dogma issues and why I believe these issues the way I do. hehehe :D

BUT! When someone attacks the "BAPTIST DOCTRINES" of Christ and of our Faith, Well, (hehehe) Then I'm ready to contend for the Faith with my 44 caliber KJB! hehehe :D

Sherrie...take a deep breath and count to 10, please. Don't let the "arguing" here get you down. It may seem to be arguing on the surface, but for most of us, it is not that at all. We all have different opinions and we would fight and die to defend the privilege of being first of all saved, born again Christians. We are only "Baptists" secondarily. If you're not truly a born again "Christian", then it doesn't make any difference if you're a Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Catholic or otherwise, you're still lost! Christians are going to have varying degrees of conviction and disagreement. The Holy Spirit doesn't convict everyone on the same level. I've enjoyed your posts, and would hope that you would just set back, take a few moments and clear your thoughts, and remember that you're important on here too. [IMG]
