Click Here for the story. Majority supports President's economic plan and bipartisan attempts to reach out to Republicans.

What do you expect in a country where Britany Spears outsells Ricky Skaggs, Blue Highway, and The Steeldrivers combined ?

While 62 percent thing the stimulus will help their local economy, only 46 percent expect it will improve their personal financial situation.

38% Say Stimulus Plan Will Help Economy

    Hmmmmmm......................................

Thirty-eight percent (38%) of voters nationwide believe the $787-billion stimulus plan passed by Congress will help the economy. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 29% believe the plan will hurt and 24% believe it will have little impact. ......

.........Thirty-two percent (32%) say they’re more likely to vote for someone who supported the bill in Congress while 35% said they’re less likely to vote for someone who supported it. Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter, one of three Republicans who voted for the stimulus in the Senate, has been hurt politically for his decision. .....

.....Following passage of the stimulus bill, consumer confidence fell to a record low. It has been falling to new lows will regularity since early 2008. Confidence in the nation’s banking system also has plummeted. ......

..........President’s Obama’s overall approval ratings have remained steady and high since his inauguration. However, Republicans have gained ground on Democrats in Generic Congressional Ballot polling. ........

........Most Americans believe tax cuts are good for the economy, and half (48%) say that more government spending is bad for the economy. ........

........Polling last week showed that 67% of Americans trust their own judgment on economic matters more than the trust the average member of Congress. Forty-nine percent (49%) trust their own judgment more than the president’s.

Those are interesting numbers Rev. I haven't seen them before. These numbers imply the nation is turning more conservative yet Obama approval is still in the 60's.

    Interesting...

Now here is something interesting, 21% of the people polled couldn't answer this question...

5* Is the following statement true or false: Just about all Democrats in Congress voted for the stimulus plan while just about all Republicans voted against it.

    78% True

    11% False

    10% Not sure

Any explanation why the two polls differ so widely?

Polling has become a marketing tool.

Polls are now designed to obtain the result that you want to support your position.

The mainstream news outlets tell us what they want us to think.

It's a matter of the how well the sample is done, LeBuick. I seriously doubt that any of the major polling organizations intentionally skew their numbers.

No that is your interpretation. What it shows is the country is staying steadily conservative as they always have been.

Polls are ridiculously easy to manipulate...

Want near 100% vote that the bible is the inerrant inspired word of God? Go to a fundamental bible thumpin church and poll.
Want a near 100% vote that the bible is bologna? Go to a scientology meeting.

Want the Dems to look bad? Poll in heavy Rep areas...
Want the Reps to look bad? Poll in Dem heavy areas.

Want Social Security scares? Poll the lower income older folks...
Want a who cares attitude about SS? Poll the high income older folk..

Polls are as much a political tool as the ever so popular smear campaign, and just about as reliable.

The country has ALWAYS been "middle of the road" not supporting extremists on either side.

I wonder where the majority is, everyone I've heard is severly disapproving, and many of these voted for him.

not really, just been around, people you know, people you see around and know them because it's a small town. obamam supporters are turning on him quick here, had one in my home yesterday, very disappointed in her guy. They all know how costly the 'stimulus' is going to be, for them, their grandchildren, and in one instance their great grandchildren.

The majority are in the middle. The moderate/progressives. We don't belong to either party. We are American's who only affiliate with America and not a political ideology.

How can anyone be sufficiently naive to believe anything produced by MSNBC. Isn't that the place where the guy who felt something run up his leg hearing O'bama speak
