So I have this right, most of these people never owned a gun for say 30, 50 or 60 years then suddenly decided they better get one before Obama takes them away. That would make one great Saturday Night Live skit.

I finally had that epiphany O'bama was talking about. It will come to you too, if you have the faith.

    Hope JC didn't backslide!

I have never owned a handgun.

The elecction of Obama is the reason I intend to buy one.

    Before it's too late.

I am an electronics technician. I specialize in repairing music equipment; guitars, amps, mixing boards...etc. I play music professionally, and I own a recording studio. I also install high-end entertainment/internet/phone/cable systems in homes, offices, & motor homes. I have a part time job working in a high-end acoustic instrument shop. I also have been known to drive building materials around the Northwest, in another, very part-time job.

Not exactly. This class was specifically for a concealed carry permit for handguns. Most of the people there were experienced with guns and just wanted the permit, or they were hunters with riffles who want handguns as well. There were maybe 15 people in my class who did not have prior experience.

I think with the economy the way it is, people want to protect their homes in case of crime. Also, some libs, including Obama, do seem to want to disarm the US citizens. People want to buy guns before restrictions make firearms too difficult and too expensive to obtain.

Luke 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Remember, these verses take place when Christ is foretelling Peter's denial. Perhaps the strong rebuke for Peter is deserved due to this ?

I don't think it's US citizens they want to disarm it is the gangs. I did a funeral of a 5 year old boy who was hit by a stray bullet in a drive by shooting. That was the toughest funeral I've ever done and the mother had to be pulled out of the coffin so the funeral director could close it.

I admit I don't have the answer but the inner city is inundated with kids carrying guns and we need to make it harder for them to get these guns. I believe in the constitution and want the 2nd amendment protected 100% but we have to so something about these gangs. They now have assault rifles and weapons that fire through walls so that you're not save in your own home.

I see where you're coming from, LeBuick

I own a handgun----but its a "Pop-Gun" compared to the Deer Rifles and shotguns I have

That being said----a .30-06 deer rifle bullet can pass through several walls---including brick and cinder block---a couple of sheets of 1/2 inch sheet rock and a couple of 2 x 4 studs and a measley little brick----isn't gonna stop a .30-06 bullet from penetrating

All of these "Cop" shows on TV where the cop is "hiding" behind the open door of his police crusier while in a "shoot out"?? That door---It'd be like trying to stop a bullet with a piece of paper

I have a handgun---but I have no intentions of "carrying"---I just don't feel the need----I believe its the news media who "plays up" the action and much of the US public is still in the "Orson Wells" mood----they "lap up" anything the media sells and carries to the extreme

Yes---I have a handgun----but I will not carry it to the extreme

The range I go to doesn't accept kids under the age of 18. If the kids in gangs have guns, then we need better enforcement of current laws already on the books, not more laws that only restrict honest gun owners.

I hear you about the mega powered firearms. A church near us received a stray bullet recently. It shot through at least one brick wall and one pew, maybe more, before coming to a stop. Fortunately, no one was in the building at the time. I'm not sure why the average joe would need one that powerful.

I agree about enforcing the current laws, and I hate to say this, but we may have to start treating minor (under 18) gang members like adults. Currently it's like a slap on the hand to send them to Juvi for a year or two then they come out like hero's to the others in the gang.

I don't know much about gun laws but I would like to see more enforcement for anyone who would give/sell a child a gun. I'd say if you gave the child the gun and the child commits murder, then you are guilty of contributing to the murder and should be charged accordingly. Something like that.
