It seems there are two schools of thought here (option 1 and 3) I was wonder which one would win out in a poll.

Observation on any day tells what view is most popular.

5 posts on the BB, and #6 is a "fashion" poll?

[Sigh!]

I know that you are a new member on the Baptist Board, and do not 'blame' you for asking this question, per se, but may I merely offer this for something that has appeared at least a dozen times, to one degree or another, since I have been on the BB.

Surely by now, it is time give up these "resuscitation efforts" and let this 'poor fellow'

Me neither, which is also why you won't ever find me in any Scottish costume, even for any 'historic re-enactment' either, despite the fact that some of my ancestors and kinfolk happened to come from Scotland.

You can call that garb "kilts," if you choose. I still ain't a-wearin' no skirt!

The only way to settle this fashion dilema is to wear pants under your skirt.

Me neither!

And, even though my family's ancestral home is Scotland (hence the Saltire avatar), I'm still not going to wear a kilt!

I'll leave the kilt wearing up to Prince Charles, even though he's supposed to be the Prince of Wales, not Scotland.

Because, I didn't want to read pages of debates to get the over all picture of what people think is exceptable.

And I though more would partisipate if it was as simple as voting their side. I would love to see a few hundred votes over a few hundred views.

You did not include all the options. I wore pants to church today, but I am not opposed to wearing skirts.

You do not include other possible options, and not one of these reflects my view.

Maybe, in his effort to be brief, he didn't want to skirt the issue.

Of course, he didn't count on folks getting their panties up in a wad.

But hey...what do I know...for all I know, my responses are dictated by my jeans.

OK, I'm done.

Wow...I don't have any skirts that reflect. I bet that metallic stuff is hard to clean...

Chris83 your interest is golf. I could be wrong but I assume you are male. And you are polling on what women wear?

I wear pants... lol...
Sometimes in the summer I wear shorts to church on Sunday evenings and Wednesday evenings...

BTW, I am the pastor of our church.

The others wear basically the same thing.
I would say only 3-4 women in our church wear skirts or dresses at anytime...
Most wear jeans... or shorts.

To measure someone's spirituality by the clothes they have on is what James was writing against.
This practice of "I am closer to God because I dress up for church" is a sinful attitude, and deeply seated in pride...

Go worship God.

*Not talking about modesty... All women in our church are modest...

May be sin to some, but could be out of respect for God's church, for some. Our old moderator who is now dead, said when you come to the stand, you are representing the Church of God and should dress to show it. We sometimes do forget how the temple was decked out. I am not going to tell anyone else how to dress, but at our church, we do have standards in dress apparrel. You are not coming to a ball game.

I still dress up for church, but that is prolly my age cutting in.

I once had lady ask me if it was ok to come to church without a hat. My immediate response was, "I don't care if you come in a swimsuit; just come." This was in a summer resort area, by the way.

I still think how we dress is much ado about nothing. Just come to worship the King, hear the word and sing of His praises.

Cheers,

Jim
