Don't eat so much and you will have more money for bills.

What about businessmen in the church who have workers who work on Sunday while they go to church and take that day off?

    OH, OH, I've got it...

What about the business man that owns a restaurant and he goes to church on Sundays, but makes his employees work because all the obese Christians have to go out and eat on Sundays instead of paying their bills...

If they did not eat so much they would not have to pay for doctor visits and surgery due to problems caused by obesity. If they did not eat so much they would not have to pay so much for food. In both cases they could give more to those in real need.

I will not have a practicing sodomite speak in a church I pastor about aids much as I refuse to sit in church and listen to a member speak to the church about God's holiness when the woman he is living with is publicly known not to be his lawful wedded wife, just as I will not sit and squirm in my seat in church listening to a speaker speaking on Godly giving and charity to others when I could hardly see him because of the glistening gold and silver holding his necktie down and wrapped around his wrist and fingers.

Just as I wouldn't be on the same roster of speakers invited to a Primitive Baptist church with another Primitive Baptist, or some, speaking about God's absolute sovereignty over all things that are His, and of His awesome power to reach His own, while they go practicing what amounts to missionism and speaking on the other side of their mouths about the Black Rock address.

If churches screened for overweight pastors, half the pulpits in America would be empty this next Sunday! :tonofbricks: :tongue3:

I think you make a very good point.
Every Pastor must make the decision who he allows to be behind his pulpit. If we were to sit down with each other, I'm sure we would disagree about a few things. You would not allow me to preach behind your pulpit, because I believe in missions, and am not Primitive Baptist.

Does that offend me? No, of course not. We are still brothers we jsut disagree with some things. And that's OK.

The point is, God placed you where He wants you, and He placed me where He wants me. And we have a God given responsibility to protect, nurture, and feed the sheep he has placed under our care. That means we must make some tough decisions sometimes.

But, I shouldn't condemn Pinoy over a decision he makes concerning the church he pastors. As He shouldn't condemn me over a decision I make.

Our decisions must be between us and God, and the church body. And no church has the right to tell another what to do.

The decision Warren made had to be between Him, God, and Saddleback, period. I wouldn't do what he did, but I am not the pastor of Saddleback. So It is not up to me to tell Warren what to do. That is God's job.

We each need to mind the business that God has given us in our respective churches...That would keep us busy.

God told us to store up in the times of plenty so we can get through the times of lean. I'm just being obedient to his word...

My bet is you have several adulterers in your church. Has the church done anything to remove them from fellowship?

I wouldn't do it because, despite disclaimers, a tacit alliance is being formed when one who stands for homosexuality is made a speaker at a church-sponsored meeting. Even if he were lecturing on stamp collecting, if he were known to stand for homosexuality, it would be a compromised situation.

I don't know if I am qualified to speak to these large mega churches but for us that are around a 100 member more or less, it is not something we would even consider. If someone brought it up to me, to have someone like that speak in our church, that member would get a good talking to.

Are you saying that you wouldn't mind it if the police burst into your bedroom in the middle of the night to check who you're sleeping with? Do you believe in the constitution and the bill of rights? Do you believe in freedom?

I am an ex-gay man. March of 2007 will make 17 years since I left the lifestyle. Do you mean to tell me that I shouldn't be allowed to teach Bible School, or stand in the Pulpit and offer something to say? Even if it were my testimony? And why do you call homosexuals "sodomites" not all homosexuals are sodomites. I am so glad God is my judge and not some of you!

    MrCorey,

You will be pleased to know that not all of us would bar you from speaking, and, in fact, I would welcome you to my pulpit.

As I mentioned, my brother is homosexual, but never practiced. He is also twice born. Most of us will never fully understand the lifestyle, but it should not prevent us from fellowshiping with the brethren.

    Cheers, and God bless,

    Jim

I'm with Jim, maybe your testimony or witness can help another but most of all I love to hear the unadulterated word of God. As Bro Bob would say, God forgives sin, not me...

Sory Bro bob for using your statement out of context...
