No; God "~applied~"; and God applied "MY Sabbath ... MY sign" between God HIMSELF and Israel---not the world; of course not!

You cannot read, but regard yourself judge of people and "principles of the WORLD" as were they the commanders and commandments of the righteous God.

You cannot discern, but contradict yourself stating, "~Everything about Colossian 2 is about how the Sabbath is kept through Jesus Christ~", and immediately after that everything that is not about the Sabbath nor about how the Sabbath is kept through Christ, is about the Sabbath.

To be specific, everything in Colossians 2:12 to 19 is in fact about "Sabbaths' Feast of Christ the Substance ... and Nourishment ministered"; everything in verses 20 to 23 is about "the first principles of the WORLD", which "ye ... the Body of Christ's Own ... are being dead from with Christ."

That teaches me, for one, to not believe one word from your false tongue or to submit to your decrees and doctrines of man, such as indeed make a show of wisdom and humility but is worship of man's wayward own will.

    Forget it!

Find out how GOD ~kept~ the Sabbath. The Bible is full of it, especially in the New Testament. One example, God raised Christ from the dead "On the Sabbath" and "the third day" of the Last Passover Suffering of Jesus Christ.

Or do you prefer the SDA's prophetess' garbage of a Sunday resurrection?

Yes fine. But you will say Sunday is the Lord's Day.

Well, it's not; "the Seventh Day _GOD_, thus concerning spake ... in times past through the prophets ... in these last day BY THE SON ... and God the day The Seventh Day from ALL : HIS : WORKS : RESTED", is "the Lord's Day".

~I~ do not keep the Sabbath; neither do you. It is "the Son of Man that keepeth the Sabbath".

Is that an insult to you, or to your intelligence, or what?

    Ger -

I think I remember you from long ago on this board. I say that because I am not sure how to read your posts as many of them seem a bit virulent. But tone is very hard to read, at times, in print.

Yes, I will say that the Scriptures show the Lord's Day is the 1st day of the week, Sunday. Everything else you mentioned after "Well, it's not;" is nonsensical to me. I really have no idea what your trying to communicate.

I know the 1st day of the week is Sunday. But show me how it is the Lord's Day. From the Bible.

Ger - I find it incredible as much as you comment that you do not already know the Scriptures verses we have usually referred to in holding to the 1st day of the week as the Lord's Day and take it as the Christian Sabbath.

The link in my signature to the 1689 Confession ought of have provided enough to answer you simply. What more are you looking for?

You will always be right judging my tone. It's never nice. It's those SDA and Bob Ryan. I cannot stomach them after all these years of their hypocrisy.

Alright then. So I see you have made up your mind on the matter and I chose the better part of wisdom by saving the time to present things you have already rejected.

You have NOT ~presented~ anything but Reformed Tradition which even Calvin rejected.

And I have not rejected any Scripture, ever.

And the better part of wisdom does not interest me and does not relate to the subject under discussion.

    According to Scripture. :D

Isaiah 58 is particularly good for understanding this. Also taking into account the Lord's teaching and interaction with the Jews regarding the Sabbath day. For example, is it lawful to do good or evil on the Sabbath?

The 1689 London Confession summarizes the Scripture well on the matter:

7._____ As it is the law of nature, that in general a proportion of time, by God's appointment, be set apart for the worship of God, so by his Word, in a positive moral, and perpetual commandment, binding all men, in all ages, he hath particularly appointed one day in seven for a sabbath to be kept holy unto him, which from the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ was the last day of the week, and from the resurrection of Christ was changed into the first day of the week, which is called the Lord's day: and is to be continued to the end of the world as the Christian Sabbath, the observation of the last day of the week being abolished.
    ( Exodus 20:8; 1 Corinthians 16:1, 2; Acts 20:7; Revelation 1:10 )

8._____ The sabbath is then kept holy unto the Lord, when men, after a due preparing of their hearts, and ordering their common affairs aforehand, do not only observe an holy rest all day, from their own works, words and thoughts, about their worldly employment and recreations, but are also taken up the whole time in the public and private exercises of his worship, and in the duties of necessity and mercy.
    ( Isaiah 58:13; Nehemiah 13:15-22; Matthew 12:1-13 )

    Hopefully this answers your question.

Some people deserve to believe what they believe. View the evidence in Christian discussion forums. Find them in church praying to death for grace.
