Mrs. KJV, the Scripture does say that we "walk by faith and not by sight".

Like that one successful argument of KJVO, I am out.

 

God is true to His word! Not one jot of tittle shall pass away. With thousands of manuscripts spread over the Earth. They differ very little. No doctrinal problems to speak of.

What if some Pope way back had the original documents and we did not have so many manuscripts to compare. Lets say the he was a scoundrel and decided to alter what they said to support what he wanted everyone to believe. He then would have changed God’s word!

But what if God spread His Word over many manuscripts for us to figure it out. It will not matter very much what good version you want to read. His word is preserved for us in the multiplicity of manuscripts. No serious contradictions anywhere. God’s word is preserved with out a threat of being altered by anyone.

As for me I want my King Jimmy!

Wow! I just finished reading the Reader's Digest Bible, which I have had sitting on a shelf since 1982. I rather enjoyed reading this condensed version of the Revised Standard Version.
Mind you, I am not writing a theological treatise, just reading God's word, and enjoying what He has to say to me.

I like the KJV in the pulpit....gives me more to talk about, explaining all the changed meanings of words since 1611....such as let, hinder and a few others which have completely reversed their meanings. Better sermon outlines too!

HELEN: Are you familiar with the work of Lottie Riekehof,(Galludet College, Washington, D.C.) Talk To The Deaf? I used this book to learn American Sign and found it very helpful because of all the Christian terminology in it.
