So I had little to no interaction with the other thread to the Son of God meaning (all definitions except for deity I accept).

So what then does Son of Man mean? This may be more important since it was Jesus favorite term for himself.

I won't give options yet since that discouraged debate.

It means son of ADAM. Look up "son of man" in Ezekiel especially.

Son of the new creation the new creation that Adam by obedience would obtained. Adam was good, blameless but not perfect that comes from obedience.

That we in Him become this new creation, the new life. The old is gone and the new has come in. In Him we are predestined to eternal life. To those who were looking forward to Him and us who are looking back to Him. The who will and has crushed the serpents head, through the seed of Eve.

We are saved because of His obedience being in the one who has done what we could not.

The biggest difference between Adam and Jesus, the Son of man, Jesus had the knowledge of good and evil and did not sin and was obedient until death. In Him we have the new birth, we have become the new creation and have been born again by His word

The answer to the question in Matthew 22:42 is both

The Messiah is the Son of the living God, only begotten and he also is the son of David and he is the promised seed singular of Abraham to whom the promise of God who cannot lie was made for.

Your answer is in Daniel 7:13,14. He used the name to fulfill prophecy of being the Messiah

John 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. The Jews knew the scriptures and that was the title of Messiahs coming in the clouds in judgment.......the Son of Man. Daniel 7:13-As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language worshiped him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.” John 5:39 and it is those Writings which give witness about me.

Jesus was 1000% man and 100% God. The Son of man was a reference that He came in the flesh, the lineage of Judah.

Jesus referred to Himself as both the Son of God and the Son of Man. Literally this refers to being God the Son, and Man born of a woman. But did Jesus use these terms literally or metaphorically? The Messiah was to come as something like the son of man. To be the son of God is to be the perfect image of God, thus the light of the world. No one comes to the Father except through Him.
