Not true at all. It doesn't deal with them because it wasn't in view. You took it out of context.

It is not a human right to be able to enter a country illegally and just go wherever you want.

    Patently false

What happened to the "Indians"?.. a label given by a deranged Columbus that wasn't smart enough to know he didn't land in India...

Most were killed by Europeans because they were redskins.. the others were put in concentration camps we call reservations!..

WE Europeans gained the upper hand by greed, and genocide...
NOw we don't want to welcome others.
    We are hypocrites.

In reality, I think you would see an initial shift in that direction; and then, it would swing back. You see, realistically, our businesses will heavily recruit whoever fits the job description. Our businesses will still pay them the same wages, as required by law. Doesn't matter if the individual is a citizen or on a work visa; the business has to pay them according to the wage laws. So in the long term, you haven't changed anything: the one who fits the job description and does the work is the one who will be hired and stay employed.

So changing the immigration laws doesn't really change the economic situation -- in my opinion.

The Indian tribes, at various times, did their best to keep European-Americans out of their lands. They failed, and maybe that should be a lesson to us all rather than any sign of hypocrisy.

And btw, Indians are free to leave reservations at any time they wish. They are US citizens.

Another btw, I don't think you are qualified to speak for Indians. The open borders have turned Indian reservations in the southwest into super-highways, with trash, crime and violence, so much so that they have no control over their own lands.

The propaganda you are espousing regarding the Indians is from the "Minority Revolution" that caught the tail wind of the Civil Rights Movement in the early 70's. It is a lot of lies mixed with some truth. But the big picture is untrue. Columbus was neither deranged nor dumb. During his time it is completely understandable to get things like this wrong not having the information we have today.

I am not a European, neither am I a slave owner, or anything else that pertained to men of the past. I am an American. Period. And I do not get saddled with others past mistakes.

There is no hypocrisy except fore those who wish to ignore the rule of law.

Please bear in mind dh is only 3rd generation here, and I am of considerable native american heritage.

We "native american's" are immigrants also--we just got here sooner.

There is nothing immoral about realizing we cannot take in everyone who's home country is failing them. Neither can we make their home country better for them.

    That is their responsibility.

I strongly disagree with the convention on this.

Our local schools and hospital where I live are overwhelmed, as is the state welfare system. We SAY illegals come for jobs, but the truth is at least here they just come and sign up.

GO HOME. WORK TO MAKE MEXICO BETTER. STOP ROBBING ME.

Let's look at Jesus' mission statement...
Luk 4:17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
Luk 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
    because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
    to release the oppressed,
Luk 4:19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."[5]
Luk 4:20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him,
Luk 4:21 and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."

Yep we are here to make people's lives better... that's a side effect of the Gospel.. If not part of the Gospel. Jesus came to help the oppressed.. the very ones that Americans are trying to run out of the country.
