Lets try a different type of thread that departs from the dozens of anti-Obama threads that have popped up since the election. This one might actually take some thought.

Why do you think God put Obama in the office of POTUS?

Barack Obama will be a better president for ordinary Americans, as opposed to the elite Americans, compared to John McCain. Therefore, God showed compassion to us ordinary Americans.

    That's what I think.

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Daniel 4:17 ....so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of men.

Sometimes, those truths are a bitter pill to swallow, aren't they? And they raise a lot of questions, too.

Ungodly leadership, in scripture, is JUDGMENT on a nation!

Basically, God said "You guys are going to sit by while thousands of my creations are murdered everyday?? Your going to uphold political correctness over MY WORD???

O.k. I am going to give you exactly what you asked for. On your own heads be it."

Thats what I think. There could not have been a more ungodly, evil, anti God person placed in the White House (Barak Obama). And just like Saul, God is being just, giving us the leader we deserve, rather than being merciful, and blessing us with Godly leadership.

See y'all in the bomb shelter in two to three years when our faith is illegal.

You may be right. That is certainly one of the reasons God puts certain people in power, for judgement. That with the fact our nation certainly deserves judgement, your conclusion is quite reasonable.

My sister and I differ on many things. This as all Presidential election was one. Here is an E mail I sent to her......

I don't believe God wanted Obama to win but with the state of the US he allowed it. So people not living in his will (which is what a Christian is someone who looks to the Bible as to Gods WILL before making decisions to see what his will would be and trying to live by that as best as they can) I see God as allowing Obama to be president as well as the current Down fall of this country not Bushes fault but MANS fault that is MAN not looking first to GOD WILL before acting. I think Obama's presidency will make peoples Eyes OPEN as well as yours in seeing that they're life doesn't reflect a Christian life when they say they are. And hopefully change they current life to be lived for Christ. After loosing jobs or what ever else that could come like War on our land people will come running back to him. (as did shortly happen after 9/11 some stayed some didn't ) ( we call that fire insurance)

I didn't Vote for Obama NOT because he's Black. But how he views Abortion and Homosexual and Marriage. Not that I want to hurt women who have had abortions or people living in a gay lifestyle. But I want them to accept Christ and let the Holy Sprit Change their heart. And put it in line with Christ's. As has mine. And ask for Forgiveness. I do think God is going to protect the people who didn't vote for Obama because they value Lives more than Money as does he. The Money will all be left behind after he comes to take us home, but the lives live on either with him (in heaven) or without him (in Hell) It's your Choice. I do also believe Obama's raising of taxes on Small businesses and larger ones as well will only CUT jobs. Not make them. Bigger companies will just move more over seas to avoid the higher taxes. and smaller businesses will either close or cause US to pay higher prices to help them pay the taxes. (just passing the buck along) Who can afford THAT?

Maybe to increase the odds of his getting bumped off than if he remained only a senator.

I wonder if the Secret Service sweeps the Internet. If so, enjoy their visit with you, Alcott.

I believe that our country (on the majority) has abandoned God and the Bible and God has lifted His blessing from us. I think it's particularly offensive to God because this country was founded for the purposes of worshiping Him without interference.

Soon we may be just like the UK, a former world power. It's hard to say those words because I love America and what we were founded to be. I think that God in His mercy may have allowed our financial system to crumble (a real American Idol) as a chastisement - that men and women might repent of their worldliness. Worldliness is evident when you choose a leader because you think they will make your earthly life better instead of choosing one who wants to keep God's laws as a compass for the nation.

He hasn't yet....It looks like He will (for judgment), but He hasn't put him in office of POTUS just yet.

It rather absurd reading posts where people claim that because their candidate didn't win or a candidate they liked least won that it is because of God's judgment.

Some of you people must be really stuck on yourselves to claim to know so flawlessly the mind of God in U.S. electoral politics. If ya'll are that smart then you should be making a killing in the stock market.

If you read the opening post of the thread, opinions were asked for. That is what they are giving. Judgement is one of the reasons God could have put Obama there.

Nothing has changed. Thousands of babies have been murdered every day during the current generation as well as large numbers of innocent women, children, elderly people in Bush's unjust war in Iraq. At least we'll get some change in one of these atrosities in the Obama administration.

    In a word:
Thus says the Lord: "Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, `We will not walk in it." (Jeremiah 6:16)

    judgement.
