So Jesus, being God, never ate with sinners?

Some churches do fully apply such things. Years ago I preached at a church and a woman came forward. Later that day the pastor and I visited her and she told us that the church at the end of her street would not let her in the door because she wore pants and her hair was too short. Imagine they were going to prevent her from entering that building. It probably was a good thing looking back though, because she probably would have never heard the gospel and remembered all the nonsense.

Bringing a sinner into the church to hear the gospel is much different than bringing them in to see wrestling.

Give me a break... yes, Jesus did eat with sinners, but he did not have to bring the world into the temple by worldly means. As a matter of fact, my Bible tells me Jesus made the statement that His Father's house was to be a house of prayer. I wonder if He were here today if He might be making another scourge?

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)

How does Romans 12:1-2 apply to Christian Wrestling matches? As believers in Christ, we are not to conform to the ways of the world.

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. (1 Corinthians 15:33)

Ok, let's assume for a minute that I agree with your idea and the meaning of Romans 12:1-2

By you using the Internet, aren't you comforming to the world? What about your Phone? Isn't that conforming to the World?

Do you enjoy a good movie?

You see, all these things are Worldly, and yet, people enjoy them.

Now, I only said I would agree with your idea to make that case. I don't however agree with you on this and this passage. I believe Paul was talking about worldly things of that day and age. Worshiping Idols, Practicing the Jewish faith in the Old days, and not believing in Jesus as their Savior.

I could be wrong in the meaning on these verse's as I am not a Biblical schoolar, but it's what I believe in reading over these passage.

    Let me ask this question.

Does your church have a Choir?

What about any musical instructments? Guitar, Drums, flute, Piano?

Do you hold special Teen or Youth nights? Movies? Games, etc?

If you answer to any of these yes, can you tell me why you have them?

I believe the answer would be the same as these fine guys that started this Wrestling for Christ show.

Please answer these questions with concern to your church.

Our church has a piano. But the piano is not there for entertainment. The church is not a place for entertainment. It is a place to assemble and to learn the Word of God, to be equipped enough to go into the community and witness Christ.

Having a piano to accompany hymns is in no way, shape or form entertainment as this wrestling is.

We don't have Teen Night, Youth Night or any meetings that do not promote Christ.

And before we are accused of being a dead church, we have more than 20 adults and at least 2 teens. And to top that, Christ is there.

If one has to have worldly methods to draw a person to church, one does not have enough faith to believe the Holy Spirit is able to draw.

What attracts the people will keep the people. If they are going to church for the music, the wrestling, the games, they apparently mistake the church for a social club.

The meaning of Romans 12:1-2 is exactly what it says literally--don't be conformed to the world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. We live in the world but we are not to be "of" the world.

What kind of message are they presenting? The audience is standing and cheering and jeering just as the audience at a professional wrestling match.

These guys are promoting a message of violence, plain and simple.

And I am sorry to say, but in my opinion, you guys are promoting a message of judgmental values.

You're judging something on the surface, and not realizing that GOD is working here. People are being saved. Do you think Satan had changed and is saving people now? or do you think that only comes through God?

You guys are so closed minded.

I will pray that the Lord will open your hearts and minds to things that you don't seem quite able to get your hands around.

Back to my original post, AS long as the message is coming from the the Lord, and backed by the Bible, then I say go for it.

My standing on the Word of God, preaching that we are to come out of the World, to be separated from the worldly pleasures isn't being judgmental.

People want to always bring up statements like, 'you're being judgmental' and, 'judge not', but they fail to quote the other verses that tell us we can judge as long as it is righteous judgment.

God's house is to be a house of prayer, not an entertainment hall, nor a social club.

I visited my sister's church in NC and was shocked by the events that were going on. A rock and roll group to sing in the sanctuary the next month, youth playing DDR games in the fellowship hall, etc..

People can add a verse or two and call it church if they want, but my Bible tells us we cannot sit at the table of the Lord and drink the cup of the devil.

Church leaders in many denominations are deceiving and being deceived.

It is evident we are living in the last days when there will be a great falling away from the faith. And yet, we see people flocking to many megachurches.

Why? Because they are not churches, but entertainment halls and social clubs.

In the book of Genesis, man tried to reach heaven by building a tower. God was displeased and brought judgment upon man.

Today, man is building a different tower, entertainment.

God's house is no longer the place He meant it to be. It has become a 'little Hollywood' if you will. Rock and roll, wrestling, dance... everything that is vile and against nature is brought behind the pulpits in the name of Christ.

'Be not deceived, God is not mocked...'

Then how would you interpret Eccl. 3: 1-4?

"There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven--A time to give birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance."

much of the dance you see in the church today is choreographed. A lot is sensual and is not Spirit led
