Today I bought Microsoft works 8 ...... it won`t load on my dinosaur of a computer. The computer is windows `98, but when I try to load this programme (disc) it says I have to have windows `98 second edition or later .......... is there anything free/cheap that I can do? seems this thing is `out of the ark`

You can get 98 second edition from Microsoft for very little, postage and handling I think. Just go to their site and snoop around, or you might be able to get someone with broadband to download it for you and burn it to cd.

There is also Open Office that I THINK has a spreadsheet in it, that is downloadable - again broadband would be a plus as it is huge.

If you have a resale shop sometimes you can find older software at cheap prices.

Open Office speadsheet works like a charm and is totally compatible with Excel. It is free.
