    rsr,
There's nothin' in my gun(there I go again!) cabinet that can stand up against the Alabama's 16-inch deck guns! Did you know that it took over 130 crewmen to man just one of those turrets??

Naaaawwwww! I don't "pack heat" to the pulpit! I ain't that peranoid! But here lately I HAVE been paranoid enough to slip on my trusty flak jacket!! Spiritually I do have a flak jacket! Something about being able to "quench all of the fiery darts of the devil" stuff! You guys pray for ole Blackbird!

Sherrie, I went outside today and found my first dianthus had bloomed. OK, it's not much, but it's a good sign.

Oh, and I know you have daffodiles. Because they are blooming everywhere here. It was really windy here today. But it was beautiful too. In the 70's. I hope it don't rain. It always does when it gets nice like this.

I looked today, and everything is starting to come up. I can't wait for everything to come out full bloom.

Well, ole Blackbird--get the picture now--he gets the part he needs for his tractor--$1.76 at Advanced Auto Parts! I get the part on! I put gas in the tank! The metal seat is beckonin' for my attention!! I crank the starter! It fires up! OOOHHHHHH, its purrrrrin' like a kitten!! I hitch the disk up! I make my way on over to the corn patch! The disk is diggin' deep! The dirt is just right! I make half a pass around----you guessed it!! She broke down! Again!! My neighbor comes out to check things out!! I tell him "its best you just ease your way on back to the house! Old Blackbird is about to loose his religion!!"

Found the problem with the tractor! Sediment still in the gas tank! Sediment in the line leadin' to the sediment bowl(fuel filter, for you post-sixties folks!)

Now, ladies! Sherrie, SheEagle, Gina, Stubborn, Kate double zero seven, Laurenda--I Am Blessed 16--believe me, I would ask you but you appear to be a lady who despises gasoline on the hands and under the finger nails!! HA!! Here is the question for you girls!

    1. I've got sediment in the gas tank! Right?

    2. It needs to come out! Right?

    3. The only way to totally get the sediment out of the bottom of the tank is the way I figure--

    A. Drain the tank completely!

    B. Get my wife's vaccuum cleaner out

    C. Stick the hose in the bottom of the tank and turn the cleaner on--

    D. Is Blackbird headed for trouble with his relationship with his wife--if the vaccuum cleaner is brought into the picture????

    E. Its the only way! The vaccuum cleaner is the only way I know to clean that cotton-pickin' sediment off the bottom of the gas tank!

    F. That's the excuse I plan on giving my lovely wife--"Honey! I had to use that vaccuum cleaner! It was the only way!! Believe me!!"

    Any advise??

Your Southern Baptist preachin', gas tank cleanin' son of a gun!

Stop playing around! Take that tank off and clean it out! Your going to $1.76 yourself to death! At this rate, we are going to have watermelons next year and not this year! Probably got some water mixed in that old gas, and tried to put new gas in with it.

take the tank off and clean it out. Your lucky you don't mess the motor up. Geesh!

Blackbird, remember that electric motors can cause sparks, which is a less-than-acceptable combination with gasoline fumes.

We have spring one day and winter the next.

We had spring storms last night and winter today.

Things are beginning to bloom and we can get out and walk in the evenings now.

It's not even noon and already 75 here west of Atlanta! I'm so happy spring is here! I love spring and fall!

I sure wish we had something other than red clay in Georgia. I had the most beautiful English Garden in Connecticut because of the rich black dirt. I just cannot seem to grow weeds here!

A Freeze is forecast for this weekend here in Central Oklahoma. The RedBuds and Bradford Pears are blooming. They are so beautiful. Maybe the freeze will not get them.

Whilst it is quite mild here in Ontario, we never plant anything before May 24th. The frost factor remains in effect......and sometimes later than that.

My greenhouse is doing well though. I maintain the tmeperature in there at 30c. I have more than 30 varieties of Roses and keep them covered until late May. Crocuses and some other early spring plants were pushing up through the snow when we had a warm spell for a few days.

It remains mild here and rain is expected the next few days with breaks of sun.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Oh, I forgot to report that we have already had to mow the yard. The grass was so tall that our dog was getting lost in the backyard. [IMG]

Yes, this is an especially big problem if you have a chihuahua (don't ask, it was a gift from the in-laws.)

Ours is a Bichon Friese, a white curly haired dog that is a little bigger than a toy poodle and I think a lot cuter. He is very particular. Barks if anything (except his toys) are out of place. He does not like cabinet doors or closet doors left open.

Today, He didn't like how I where I placed his water dish and food and promptly rearranged them.

He has a strict schedule. He gets everyone in the house up in the mornings and then promptly goes back to sleep ;)

    He really entertains us. [IMG]

    Sister Sherrie,
Don't leave! Please! I've scanned over the posts on that women's thing---PTW ain't but one fella---I've been ready to leave the board when folks like you have talked me into stayin'--you're one of our leaders--we need ya! Ain't that like the devil--when he's on the war trail--he'll shoot the Indian with the most feathers in his hat--shoot the Chief and the warriors will run! Well, Sherrie! You are one of our chiefs--come back and have fun! Just think about the "Lickin's" that I've recieved on those alcohol threads and poor ole Brother Curtis over on the Catholic board--nobody but him will take the "crossfire"

I am personally invitin' you back!

    Your Southern Baptist preacher buddy!
    Blackbird

PS--good news about the tractor--a church member is gonna take the gas tank to his shop and steam clean the inside--she'll be runnin' like a souped up wildcat before ya know it!!
