Excellent. We have one vote for the terms "General" and "Particular." Those terms are also the historic terms used by Baptists from the early 1600s.

    Anybody else?

But then particular baptists will be shortened to "Parties," and that just sounds like too much fun.
    :D

But in seriousness, GB and PB seems adequate.

And I suppose the General Baptists would be "Gennies" -- which sounds to close to jenny, a female donkey.

So far that seems to be the best suggestion.

What are you going to do with the "Calvinist" sub forum?

As it is in "All Christians" it would also, presumably, include Presbyterians who do not disdain the term.

Yep, would be Reformed Baptists and Presbyterians both in there!

I am not a Presbyterian and don’t mind the Calvinist label at all. In fact, I use it myself. Gives ppl a target to aim at.

The problem here is that Scripture never condones any type of revenge, which is what you are giving a thumbs-up to. I'm fairly certain what is being advocated here would not pass the so-called "Golden Rule" test. That said, I would be saying the same thing to a Calvinist (or Particular, or whatever we're calling us now) who was advocating or condoning what you are here.

Many have talked about a "Vast Calvinist Conspiracy," but none really exists. It is a red herring. We do not sit in rooms filled with cigar smoke and stout trying to figure out new and amazing ways to be rid of the Arminian plague. Most of us do not consider Arminianism a "plague."

The painting of us Calvinists as a nefarious group gives the anti-Calvinists an excuse (no matter how un-Biblical) to treat us in ways that simply are not Christian.

I agree. But we often see a lot of intemperate language from the "cage calvinists" among us. (Oh, wait, "cage PBs" - hmmmmm. Just doesn't have the same ring, does it. "Penned PBs?) :)

Yes, and the "caged" whatever should be called-out too, as I said.

    Blessings,

We Calvinists are not nearly as nefarious as our critics make us out to be!
