It will be kind of sad. My Late husband will have passed over 2 years. I went to his grave side today. A lady my husband knew all his life was burried next to him. And behind him was a little boy we knew, who sufficated in a freezer. 4 places up was my dear friend, who died of cancer. She was very young. In all this I am going to try and be excited because I am going to join the church I am attending tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will be a widow of 2 years and a New Member of the "Friendship Baptist Church" here in Dexter, Mo.

Please think of me tomorrow, and please say a silent prayer for me.

    Sherrie

    Sherrie,

Our thoughts are always with you, luv.

The one blessing in death is the victory in Jesus, and you will have a double victory tomorrow: you celebrate two victories.....victory in Jesus in both cases.

May our Lord fill your heart with gladness, and know this, that all your friends here are with you in spirit,,remember to save a space on those pews for us, and please don't pay any mind to me,,I sing off tune all the time.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Sister Sherrie,

I want to make this little statement--if you will let me---

There is a Hebrew word called "Aphar"--which translated simply means "dust"--and all throughout the old testament it is used in several ways--

-sometimes it is used to refer to the dust of the body/flesh---we are made of dust.

-sometimes it is used to refer to the dust of the grave--we go back to the dust of the grave.

-sometimes it is used to refer to the dust called the earth---that ball of dirt me and you live on.

OOOHHHHH, but here it comes---Job makes reference to the very same thing I'm gonna say here---One of these days--The Lord Jesus Christ is gonna come back to this Earth(Aphar) and He's gonna stand over the graves(Aphar) and He's gonna speak to our dust(Aphar)--and we're gettin' up!!! Our Aphar will live again!!!

OHHH, but I know its a sad occasion for you--but let this prayer stick that ole John prayed on Patmos--"Even so, Come quickly Lord Jesus!" OOOOHHHH, I can hardly wait!!!

    Your Southern Baptist friend always,
    Blackbird

Job 19:25-27 -- For I know that my Redeemer lives,
    And He shall stand at last on the earth;
And after my skin is destroyed, this I know,
That in my flesh I shall see God,
    I shall see for myself,
And my eyes shall behold, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me! (NKJV)

Thought about this during "Messiah" last night.

Thank you everyone. I did really well today. I did not get so upset. Oh yeah, I miss my husband, but, I was ok today. It really was yesterday I did bad. Go figure. I had a real pity party and everything. But I was good for today.

The kids and I got an unanimous amen from the congregation...and now we are new members. So now I am Southern Baptist.

Between those periods in time, my son moved home until Martin Luther King Day. Then he is back to college. Shame I couldn't get him and blush together. Oh he would be soooooo mad if he knew I said that. tee-hee.

I went back to the graveside, it was funny because I saw the cemetery in a whole different way. I wondered which were saved and which weren't. I saw God holding all his children; in my mind, and an iron gate with all those who weren't saved, crying out to God. Just like the story Jesus gave us about Abrahams bosom. I thought that was sad. It was like all their hands were reaching up for God, but they couldn't reach Him for the gate. Then I looked around the cemetery. I looked for something even tho I didn't know what to look for. And I caught myself saying how do we know God, how do we know?

I didn't even know what I was asking, or why. Then I realized I had to get busy, before more of those people go to the gate, and they cannot reach God. I have to tell them about Jesus. And I realized that God will let me know, because he will be leading me.

    Odd...but.....I am ok now.
