How many of you wear suspenders? How do you feel about them? Belts just aren't holding my pants up that effectively anymore. So I bought a pair in Hong Kong yesterday. I'm trying them out today. I feel like Mr. Greenjeans. I have that farmer look about me. Ah,but that belies the real me. :)

I got tired of looking like a rapper -- so I guess looking like a farmer is better.

I prefer coveralls style. It eliminates the belt problem The Wife found a sewing pattern for them and will try to make me some of a lighter material.

    Nooooooooooooo. Please don't.

    Here, try this instead: http://www.suspenders.com/undergarment-suspenders.htm

It's a brave new world and as much as we may admire our forefather's, we don't want people dressing like them. It skeers the women folk and makes us feel horribly old and then we surrender all hope. Seeing our hubbies in suspenders or people a little older than our hubbies wearing them? We immediately think it's time to drag out the bedpans and stop pushing the beds together because our life's sunset has arrived.

Be kind. Unless you're going tap-dancing on stage or acting out the part of a grandfather in a play from the early 1900's, lose the over-the-shirt suspenders.

(ps: suspenders worn over clothing are dangerous for married men when worn during a disagreement with a spouse. The temptation to snap them is irresistible)

I wear suspenders and a belt. The suspenders keep the trousers up, and the belt keeps the trousers snug to the waist.......And it is biblical, as it says, "Two things are better than one..."

    Cheers,

    I appreciate your concern,but...

Now those holdups are nifty, keen and swell even. But I just bought mine and it's the only thing that answers my problem in the here and now.

Yeah, this morning I felt like I was entering a new stage of my life. Kind of sad I guess.

Well,I will be doing a performance on stage singing to Middle School kids Friday. It's the new old me.

Cooler weather will be here soon. (It doesn't get that cold here) So maybe I can put the suspenders underneath.

But thanks for your support. :)

I only wear suspenders when I am wearing a suit. It's one less thing to have to worry about when i am preaching.
