ccrobinson - I am not sure what a tebow apologist is. Most of us don't think he's a brady/manning/brees kind of quarterback, but we think he deserves better than the way the Jets have treated him.

The rest of the story was that when Ryan told Tebow he was being jumped over by a career 3rd stringer, that he complained. He and Ryan didn't talk until later in the week when the decision had already been made to make a receiver into the wild cat. I am not sure Tebow is even an average NFL quarteback, but there comes a time when he had to stand up to the idiocy that is the Jets.

Idocy is a nice word...... Crude arrogance I think is more appropriate.

    Merry Christmas!

The hate towards Tebow has spread to the Christian community. Sad

Who has hated on the man?
Having an opinion about his football skills is not hate.
The man is a good Christian example and I am thankful he speaks out for Christ.
He just is not an NFL QB.

Rev M, can't we use ths same logic or principal that you posted on another thread. (Demonizing) we are talking about his ability as a QB not as a person.

You might want to read through the thread a bit more.

    Just read through it again.
Please back up your claims of "hate" in this thread regarding Tebow.
I see no hate at all toward him.

Just curious if you can show us the hate towards Tebow in this thread yet?

No different than any other apologist. And, they do exist on this board. Or, at least, they did.

How have the Jets treated him badly? If the Jets told Tebow he was going to play QB and he hasn't, what does that tell us? It should tell us that, as bad as Sanchez has been this year, they still thought Sanchez was a better option.

What happened to Tebow doing "whatever is best for the team"? The player doesn't decide what's best for the team, the coaches do. I hate to break it to you, Tom, but you're edging towards being a Tebow-apologist. What Tebow did was elevate himself above the team by refusing to do what the coach asked him to do.

What story are you reading? Here's the updated one that I'm reading.

It wasn't until Tebow said no that they went with Kerley, a WR that had converted from playing QB in high school.

Ryan asked him to play in the wildcat and despite the talk of doing "whatever is best for the team", he decided that he knew better than the coaches. If this were anybody else, he'd get crushed by the media and fans for what he did.

What hate? Please point out the hate. And be specific. We need specific, direct quotes.

Well for one you did not source it so it is against posting rules. Second it is without context so it smears Tebow without source or context. Quite the hate.

Did Tebow say why or is this just mean spirited speculation by those who would like to find fault.

What on earth are you talking about? I provided a link to the story. What more do you want? The story provides both source and context and there's no smearing of Tebow. This is an actual thing that happened. And, let's not pretend that I'm somehow breaking this news on the Baptistboard. If you follow sports at all, you already knew about this story.

Why does that matter? He was the one who would do "whatever is best for the team" and when the team decided to do something he didn't like, he refused to do it. I point out the fact of Tebow elevating himself above the team and get called a hater.

    Fair enough.

Translation: there was no hate, he made it up and had to post something to cover himself.

Back on topic, boys...stop picking at each other!!!

Tebow is a football player. He might not be up to the top qback
standards, but if the right team picks him up and he gets HELP
instead of HINDRANCE (Jets) then he will have a chance to be the
player was was during the final weeks of last year's Broncos season.

And tabloids will never change my mind about his testimony either.

In fairness to Tebow Rex Ryan has not given him a fair shot. But what else would you expect from him, His Father and Brother along with him IMO are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

    Tebow's future? Arena Football League.

    Saw this on Twitter:

    Jim Souhan ‏@SouhanStrib
Can't wait for ESPN to do It's a Wonderful Life where we see what network would have been like without Tebow.

Still no posts showing who was hating on Tebow.
    No surprise.
