    I definetely have to pick Magnum P.I. He's always a hit with the ladies, lives in Hawaii, & drives a cool looking sports car. What's not to like about him? The theme song was also cool. That theme is stuck in my head now that I'm thinking about it.

    My choice isn't there either. So I chose Monk. My favorite would be Andy Sipowicz of NYPD Blue because he was most like the real life detectives I have known.

    My husband would watch "WALL TO WALL" detective programmes :rolleyes:, the only one I can watch right through is Columbo .

    I thought I could pick more than one and it took my last vote before I could change it! So the results are faulty!

    Subtract one vote from Rockford Files and add one to Monk.

    Colombo is a close 2nd.

    Frank Cannon and Nero Wolfe. :thumbsup:

    In those days, they had the physique that most resembled my own.

    They were real detective heavyweights who could throw their weight around. :D

    Another TV detective I like is Detective Olivia Benson (played by Mariska Hargitay) on Law & Order: SVU. I think she's kind of cute.

    It was a toss up between Columbo and MONK, but I chose MONK since this summer is his last season.

    I also like Bobby Goren and Katherine Erbe of Law & Order: CI, and Jessica Fletcher of Murder She Wrote and Special Agent Gibbs of NCIS.

    Oh, I just like all of the dectective shows!!! :)

    My feeling is that none of the above are the great ones. The really great ones are on Mystery on Public TV and other mystery programs on PBS:

    Sherlock Holmes
    Inspector Lindley
    Hercule Periot
    Inspector Morse
    Miss Marple
    Cadfael
    just to name a few.
