If you are supposed to throw it away, I should not discourage you. However, you COULD try to replace it from a china matching service. And you could take some of the broken pieces and have some really cute jewelry made. I have seen earrings, brooches, pendants, and bracelets from broken china with metal edging around them after they have been cut further. [IMG]

CJ, I will give it some thought as to telling Muffin he is a dog. We might have to send him to a dog psychologist.

One time some workers broke my grandmother's butter dish. To make matters worse, they didn't tell me and threw in the dumpster. You should have seen me trying dig the broken pieces out of the dumpster... Well, it was broken so badly that I finally gave up and left the pieces there.
I think they threw it away hoping I would not notice and ask them to replace it...How could they replace it? I shedded a few tears. I know the feeling. But I have learned to not value possessions so much. It is a difficult lesson, isn't it?

Well, I have been posting on the headcovering all day or mostly reading and posting a little.

I try to stay out of those threads, but then I remember that there are many new members who may be struggling with this teaching. A few years ago, we had a woman come through that was selling headcovering...she had a following, but they didn't stay long. I have learned so much since I have been on this Board. I thought all Baptists believed the same way I do. [IMG]

My mother was extremely strict and firm in her Baptist beliefs, but some on this Board would call her a "liberal" She didn't stop wearing hats until the '60's. ;) Now mind you, she still will not wear pants.

CJ, when I lived in Dallas, we didn't dare go downtown Dallas shopping unless, we wore hats, gloves, dress or suit, and high heel shoes.

Yes, it is. In my case, it's just a saucer, and I have 11 more of them...more than I will EVER use at one time! And, Karen, I appreciate your suggestions, but a replacement wouldn't seem the same, and I'm not a big jewelry-wearer! For me, it's been a GREAT object lesson in placing value on "things" that are not eternal.

I remember when we used to "dress up" when we traveled anywhere. On my first flight, I dressed up! In fact, in downtown Dallas years ago, they used to have guys who would take random pictures of people and you could buy the pictures. (Nowdays, someone could get shot for doing that!!) I have one of my mom walking on a downtown Dallas street and she is dressed just like Betty said...heels, hat and gloves!! [IMG]

Well, since this is a "Tell us about your day" thread, I will! I have spent most of the day working on my lesson in the discipleship class I am taking on Wed. night. It's called "Falling in Love With Jesus" by Dee Brestin and Kathy Troccoli. I admit I loved the idea, but I was a little "skeptical" about it as the emphasis is Jesus as our Bridegroom. Our first memory verse was Psa. 62:5b, "As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you." He loves us as a bridegroom loves his bride, but since I have never been a bride(!), I was thinking I might not be able to relate. Boy, was I wrong! It is an awesome study about how much Jesus loves us and how we are to love Him!!

Other than that, I have done precious little today! But that has been plenty!! [IMG]

Glad to hear your mother does not wear pants. Do you know why she stopped wearing hats to church?

Not much planned today except watching the snow, working on my Bible study and doing some laundry!

Oh, yeah...I DO need to work on tax stuff, but I'd rather not. :( My tax return is not TOO complicated, but it's just a hassle to put it all together. I'd much rather be doing other things!! [IMG]

Dh has some work to do at the office.
So, today I am working on my fathers website for his bus, laundry, cleaning, and playing with the kids.
Dreary, rainy, foggy day in Jax today. Temp is 55.
Other than that, I am also catching up with some friends on the phone.

HCL, I think my mother stopped wearing a hat when the styles and customs changed. I don't think that she wore them as a headcovering. But she has always had long hair.

CJ, Ed and I struggled with compiling tax info last Saturday...It was a struggle getting him away from his computer. [IMG] Mailed it to our tax accountant on Wednesday.

We had a great time attending our grandson's church last night. It was very different. They had a dinner theater and did a performance of Hee Haw. It was great fun. Grandson was Jed and other parts.

You know what, there are snow flakes falling outside. Ed is running errands and picking up the church bulletin so I can prepare music for tomorrows service.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Lord's Day!! We had three people join our church this morning and three more were baptized!

We then went to lunch with our son at our favorite Mexican Restaurant.

Sun is shining and it is not as cold has it has been.

I read on another Thread that Donna has wonderful news about her brother and his girl friend being saved this morning That is wonderful Donna!!!!

I had a lovely day today with two of my grandchildren, boy 12 and girl 6. The boy likes to use my computer and eat!

I started teaching the girl to sew. We made a little beany bear. We didn't finish it because she is sewing it all by herself and her attention span is not very long. Then we baked cookies and painted.

We had a slight problem and I really didn't know how to handle it, but what I did seemed to work.

She wanted to color, paint, and eat in the living room. That is a no, no! She was going to do it anyway, but was I firm. She stormed out of the room and I heard a door slam. It took me a while to find her, but she was in Grandpa's closet. She was pouting and would not talk to me... So I told her it was a good place for her to say and that Muffin could stay with her as he seemed to want to do. He seems to have special communication with this child.

Muffin stayed with her for a few minutes, but then I heard Muffin happily running around and granddaughter playing with him. That was the end of the pouting and staying in the closet.

Oh yes, she painted and ate in the Sun room without further ado!

Well, I didn't post yesterday...too confusing. Then this morning when I opened my mail box, I had all these replies from the Baptist Board...That is great. Maybe I can keep up with where I post without looking at the list.

I did a lot of reading yesterday and found the versions section very interesting! I had stayed away from there because I don't know that much about the different versions of the Bible. They do spend some time explaining rather than debating.

Then I moved on to the Theology Forum and found some very interesting topics. General Baptist and All other Discussions always have interesting threads there.

Now, what am I going to do on this beautiful day?
First, I must pay bills. It seems that they have been saving them to deliver after a holiday.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

It has been a very warm and windy day here in Oklahoma. We will probably have storms tonight.

Some of the chairs and tables on our deck looked like a whirlwind had hit them. The strange noises make Muffin and me nervous.

Painted with a friend this morning and had a great time. Sometimes, we visit more than we paint.

Oh my, it is time to start supper! We are having fish, black-eyed peas and sweet potatoes.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and night.

    Hello Thankful:

I am closing this thread as it is redundant. We cover the daily goings on in the Coffee House.

Out of the 231 posts, 107 of them have been yours, sometimes as many as 5 posts back-to-back from you.

No one has posted on here for 6 days besides you, so the only purpose this thread is serving now, is for you to post yourself, every day, to keep it at the top of the forum, thereby covering up some other topics.

Thanks for starting it, but please do not start another. It has outlived it's usefulness.

    Blessings,
    §ue
