I hope everyone is having a great day. My husband decided to take the day off. I'm going to the beauty shop and he is going to the barber shop. We are having our annual picture taken tomorrow.

My Christmas cards are not back from the printers so I will have to do those next week. I have all my presents to wrap, but one thing is settled.....Family is getting together Christmas Eve afternoon before the Christmas Eve Service.

I would like to hear more about your holiday happenings....Where are you? Molly, Donna, Sue,ralb, Dina, AnaRosza, Elnora, CJ, Margie, Tatertot, Abiyah, Helen, moira3, Diane, SaltCityBaptist's wife, any of you guys who want to share, Johnv, Karen, Saggywoman, FollowingHim,
Gywneth, Adopted Daughter, Lea, Gina, SheEagle,
Russell55, Walls, HCL, WisdomSeeker, WonderingOne, Christine,BM, Charlotte Marcel, etc. etc. I can't remember all the names. Please forgive me if I forgot your name...The memory doesn't work as well as it used it. [IMG] There are so many of you who haven't been posting. So even if your name isn't etc., we would love to hear from you. [IMG]

It is so much fun to imagine that we are all together sharing our days....

    Hi,Thankful.

    Our day is full today.

We have just finished our school day...and it is only 10:40!!! My girls work very hard!

We are going out to lunch today...we try to do this some, just to get out. Then we are delivering Christmas gifts to an agency for a young boy we shopped for. The girls have spent a lot of time shopping, wrapping, labelling them for him....they are so excited. He will be a suprised little boy! Of course,we put in a Bible for him and his family. We can not share gifts without sharing the greatest gift of all! [IMG]

Later today,my husband and I are going to get the front porch area decorated. We have a wreath up and bows/greenery on the lanterns. Now,we have to add garland, lights, etc. Hopefully it will be finished by dark.

Tonight,I am cooking dinner and we are just staying home by the fire for a restful evening. We may make popcorn balls. :D

My daughter's step team is in the community Christmas parade tonight. This is one of the only things that could get me to stand outside in 30 degree weather!!

We have done most of our decorating, just have to replace a few burned out lights.

Shopping is going to be fairly easy, lots of gift cards.

My brother (a major in the Air Force) will be visiting from Hawaii, will be taking a swing by Puerto Rico first to pick up his 5 year old son. I have a brother and a sister here in the area and another sister in Boston that will not be coming home this year.

We have a couple of work parties to attend, and a large family party (my dad's side of the family - my grandmother, 11 aunts and uncles and countless cousins- yes they are Catholic)the Sunday before Christmas. We will spend Christmas eve with my family and Christmas day with my husbands family.

My major goal is just to try and keep the house reasonably clean, calm, and relaxing. I tend to get very stressed and can't relax when the house is really messy. In addition I will be starting a new job after the holidays and trying to wrap up the old one between now and then.

No, mine's the best, and he ought to be! I've been training him for over 26 years! :D

I hate to admit this, but I have not started Christmas decorating yet. This weekend I plan to put out the Nativity sets, tablecloth, door wreath, and other non-tree items.
This weekend we will all go to the local Lions Club lot (presided over by the cutest group of old men) and pick out our tree. Which we prefer to an artificial one. But therefore we don't have it up as long. It will soak up water with a fresh cut in the garage for several days and then we will put it up next week.
Each child gets a new ornament each year that he has picked out.

Will probably put up the outside lights this weekend also, if I can get them all away from the end of deer-hunting long enough.

One of the major things we always do in December is go with family to Silver Dollar City near Branson, MO for the Christmas lights. I love that place! A great combination of rides, music, food, crafts, millions of lights, a singing Christamas train.

I don't really have any parties to go to. And most of my Christmas shopping is done. I usually tend to have great wrapping plans and then actually go to Hobby Lobby and buy a lot of gift bags. Cuts the time down 90%!

About time to get the Mannheim Steamroller cd's out, too.

The actual Christmas holidays are spent with all of our family, spread out over several days.
My mother has already started baking the many cookies we consume.

Well I am sorry to disappoint you all but I have the best husband of all! We've been married 33 years this past Oct. and he still treats me like his bride. He thinks I'm gorgeous and very s@xy. He calls me from work every chance he gets just to check on me. He'll always swing by the store because he knows I hate to shop. He'll even pick up 'feminine hygiene products' for me! He remembers which kind, shape and size I like best too.

He loved me when I weighed 89 lbs. He loved me when I got up to 144 and he REALLY loves me now that I'm back to a good weight. ;) ;) He always puts MY needs first too!

    Hi Betty,

Where have I been? Well messing up my Christmas gifts I am making. [IMG]
Getting ready to go to Seattle for daughters surgery and me and the grandson we babysit have been sick to boot!

Sorry ladies, I have the best husband! He loves the Lord, prays and studies all the time. He loves me even when I am unlovable. He is the most patient man I have ever met. Does not have a temper, tells people God gave him a beautiful wife. I am not. He loves my cooking, thinks I am talented and brags about me. All the years he worked, he came home on time every night.

Since retiring he has taken over the majority of the yard work, all the laundry and the dishes and makes the bed. Spends lots of time with the kids and grandkids. People say "don't you get tired of him being around all the time?" I say NO! I love him being home. I couldn't be happier that we can spend time together. Many women think he is handsome and he ignores them! People always comment on what a warm person he is.

His only fault is when he goes to town, everyone knows him and stop him to talk. If we go together we never get out of a store without spending an hour visiting folks he knows. Awful isn't it. :D

Well I guess this just proves it! There are a LOT of wonderful men out there! Aren't we BLESSED!

I got so excited bragging about hubby that I didn't talk about my day or plans for Christmas.

Jim and I (and Nick) went up to church to move my Sunday School supply cabinet things from the old building (4 years old LOL) to my brand new and beautiful class room! I use the same room for AWANA on Wednesday night so I'm thrilled.

I finished almost all my Christmas cards and sent hubby out to mail out our Christmas packages. All finished!

We have a number of Christmas parties with friends and church groups. We will have a candle light Christmas Eve service too. We usually go to Stone Mountain for their Christmas celebration but really can't afford it this year.

Ladies...I have read all the wonderful things you have said about your husbands! However, I, CJ, have the best husband of all!!

    See Isaiah 54:5... [IMG]

Did lots of running around this morning, and have pretty much completed my Christmas shopping!!

I found the digital camera I wanted; however, at the particular store I was in, they had one left, but didn't have a couple of accessories they had offered free with camera purchase! One of the salesmen said they hadn't replaced them yet from the "rush" last weekend!!! So, he got on the phone, called another store, and will have them tomorrow after 1:00 p.m. He said he would call me, and I can go pick it up then! I was kinda disappointed, but I've waited THIS long for one, so guess another day won't matter!!

FINALLY got everything put away from Thanksgiving!! (Don't laugh.) The only things I had left to put away were my tupperware cake storer and my tupperware pie storer. Any of you have one of "those" cabinets where you keep tupperware and and other plastic storage containers??? :D If you do, you'll know why I dreaded putting those two things away!! (It was bad enough just getting them out!)

Anyway, I got them neatly put away in their spot in the cabinet! And as an added bonus, I put away all the other myriad of miscellaneous containers, butter tubs, and lids that fell out when I opened the cabinet!! [IMG]

I'm going to a Christmas party tonight...it's the party our Children's Minister has at her home for all the Sunday School children's workers. I am not working in children's S.S. this year, but I'm friends with her, so she invited me to come!! It's a come-and-go open house type party. There will be lots of people there I haven't seen in awhile since our paths don't cross too often on Sundays, so I'm looking forward to it!

    I love Christmas!!!

Oh C.J.! I have one of those cabinets! Hubby will ask why I'm using plastic wrap when we have all those containers... so I tell HIM to open that cabinet! LOL

I'm here...busy this week with my daughter. "Daddy" is prepping for yet another long-term overseas deployment. This one to Iraq for at least a year. It's not his fir [IMG] st time there...13 years ago he was there as well..Today I made Toll House Cookies and cleaned around the house. I have finished mailing out my Christmas packages, and yesterday I mailed out my daughter's Christmas photos. All I have left is to put the outside Christmas lights up. We have had a ton of rain lately...today it was pouring!! But it's still warm as usual, about 80 degrees...can't complain!! Have a great day!!

I don't like this game at all. They must have eaten too much turkey last week. Hope Stoops can light a fire under them.

CJ, what a blessing when a digital camera works first time, they can be a pain.
Just got and am tring to get warm. I was in the Tour through Bethlehem this year. It was cold, my toes were numb. A lady from the Chritain church brought some towel to wrap my feet in. There are people from maybe 7 or 8 church who are part of it each year. This was my fisrt year. Last night it rained and snowed all evening.

I'm a little behind on telling about my days. Probably shock from the #1 Sooners game on Saturday. Can you believe it? After such a game, they are still considered #1 and will play in the championship bowl. I'm glad, but I imagine Kansas State can always say that beat what was supposed to be the best team in the nation.

We had a lovely Deacons Family and Widows Gala on Saturday. It was very beautiful and the gifts that many of you suffered with me about buying were just perfect. Gold Wire Christmas Tree Candle holders with candles. I think they really liked them. The gift table looked like a forest of trees.

The program was simple with special music, food was wonderful.

I was a little stressed on Saturday...Husband would not call it a little. I had to get ready, cook the food for the gala and get to the photographers for our annual picture by 9 AM and then on to the Gala by 10:15. Well, we timed everything perfectly.

Ed was very calm during the entire time.

As I said the Gala was wonderful.

Afternoon, we were supposed to go to Christmas Choir party, but missed it because of what my grandchildren's aunt thought was an emergency.

These are my daughters children. By the time, I made several phone calls, it was too late for the party. Everything was fine with the grandchildren. Their aunt just called at the wrong time. Just after the children were punished for something and the 12 year old was going to leave home....

By the time, I reached them, they were going skating and seemed to be happy.

I didn't get to post yesterday (Sunday). Another beautiful Lord's Day with Christmas singing and lighting of the second advent candle.

We only had two members absent from our Sunday School Class.

Had lunch with my step-son and he is maturing right before my eyes. He turned 21 this year and he has matured so much in the three years I have known him. He gave me insight on a problem I was having. Isn't that wonderful?

I have got to get busy and pay some more bills and do laundry. Seems to be my Monday routine.
