Looks like I'm talking to myself today :D

I have had a wonderful day and it still isn't over. I talked to a friend and my brother on the phone.

Then I ran some errands. Picked up my Christmas Cards. I was needed to take my 9 year old granddaughter to get some red socks for her part in "The Nutcracker"

We just went across the street to Target, but I will have to set the scene. We are in Soonerland! You know those #1 Sooners who must have stayed home and didn't go to Kansas City. [IMG] Well red to thse people is not Christmas Red but Sooner Red (Crimson).

I could not believe we had so much trouble getting red socks at Christmas Time, but we had so much fun shopping together and finally found some suitable socks.

During the day I also talked to my sweet husband and now I am cooking supper as he will be home soon.

It is very warm here...no jackets needed, but that means trouble in Soonerland. Snow maybe on the way. I hope it waits until our Sunday School Class has its Christmas breakfast tomorrow morning.

After that I am going to come home and wrap presents.

Oh and I talked to two other grandchildren today and they are decorating their Christmas Tree.

My 12 year old grandson is unhappy because his band concert is scheduled on a Sunday at 1 PM and he can't get home from church in time to go and we can't get there in time. He says he is going to church. [IMG] [IMG]

    Well, let's see.
Saturday I went to Tulsa to a great Christkindl market sponsored by the German Society there.
Two floors of a large building filled with German food, imported ornaments, nutcrackers, and handmade crafts.
There were people in costume, a harpist playing,
and the smell of cinnamon and almonds from the nut stand.

Then Saturday night went to a bunco party with a great buffet. I had never played before and was one of the overall winners!
The rest of my family were out hunkered down in a deer stand.

Sunday church twice, with Chinese food in between.
Plus we went to the Lions Club lot to get our tree, which is now in a bucket of water in the garage.

Today Rotorooter came again, hope my tree root problem is licked this time. Really warm day for December, so I spent most of it outside doing yard cleanup.
I have most of my shopping done, but I am not nearly as far along as most of you with decorating, wrapping, and cards.

May be snow tomorrow. Ah, changeable Oklahoma weather.

    Hi ladies!!!

Had a great day today...got lots of stuff done at work, and that's always a good feeling!!

We had our Women's Ministry Christmas Luncheon today, and it was delightful! Had over 100 ladies participate! We had baked potato and salad for lunch, and everyone was to bring a dessert (with the recipe). Wow...the dessert table was unbelievable!! Lots of chocolate things!!! :D

Each table had things for a craft item and after we ate, we were to make a craft. My table had stuff for a wreath. Fortunately, we had a lady at our table who knew how to do that, and she made a beautiful Christmas wreath! There was a card under one of the chairs at the table, and whoever was sitting in the chair with the card got to keep the craft!! (I wasn't at the right chair, so unfortunately I didn't get the wreath...I would have LOVED it. :( )

Good morning, everyone!. Everyone is nervous here in central Oklahoma. Thunder woke us up this morning. We are on winter weather watch.
They don't know what is going to happen.

It may rain, it may snow, it may freeze, but we know that it is going to get cold.

My Sunday School Class is having breakfast this morning and I am waiting to see if it is going to be called off.

I have plenty to do if I stay home today.

But I am ready for this breakfast. Red Christmas Shoes, Red Christmas sweatshirt..I will probably be too hot. (It isn't sooner red, it is Christmas red)

Hope you all have a glorious Lord's Day and enjoy this wonderful season.

    Good Morning all,
Today is a slow day for me. Laundry is done, so I don't have to do that. I COULD be cleaning my tub, but just don't feel like it. I put the last clear coat on the bookshelf last night, so tonight, when it is dry, I will do the final sanding, dust it, and bring it in the house. One shelf left to do then we unpack the books and get those boxes out of the living room. I think I finally have all the decorations up for the party here. I have a sitter lined up for the work party. I got all the Christmas presents wrapped, except for some DVD's, and they hidden again. Dh decided to "left over's" tonight so that we can get done with supper quick so that we can get the sanding done and get to bed at a decent hour.
Hopefully, later I can get a hold of someone at the college so that I can get the info I need to start classes. Hoping to attend after the Spring break, but want to start lining things up now.
    That's my day so far.

Dina, I know what a relief it is to get the books unpacked. Seems like that was the last thing we unpacked and we still need to work on better organization on the shelves.

I just returned from my Sunday School Class Breakfast. It was great!. Good Food and Good Fellowship. We went to a restuarant with a private room. I like that so much. One doesn't have to cook, carry stuff, cleanup afterwards and I think it is cheaper.

We will have our Church Fellowship Sunday evening. I think I am going to take Spinach Dip, not sure yet.

It is so cold, windy, and unpleasant outside that I came home and started working on Christmas presents and Christmas Cards.

My car slid once but I think it was only water on the pavement. My car has four wheel traction (not drive) so it does this strange thing of grabbing, but it always frightens me a little when it does that.

I know all your houses are beginning to look a lot like Christmas. [IMG]

I am doing this when I should probably be doing something else [IMG] ;)

Actually this has been an unusual week so far. Hubby got 2 phone calls Saturday regarding the passing of 2 friends. One expected, one not. We went to visitation Sunday night, funeral this morning, another visitation this afternoon and second funeral tomorrow. Hubby is a pallbearer tomorrow.

The service today was beautiful. I did not personally know him but he had apparently returned to his faith when he learned he was ill and has been an inspiration to all who know him since then, truly a changed man. The service was unashamedly evangelical. Hope people (i.e. hubby) were really listening. Even people who are already Christians could learn a lot.....I think I came away from this learning that you can't fake caring and compassion, it really has to be from the heart and it can only come from God. Anything else is phony and temporary. Phoniness will eventually be exposed. I've so much to learn...I often do not feel very compassionate and caring.

I'm not staying on the BB long today (Famous last words) Today is house cleaning day. Let's see it comes around about every three months. [IMG] Actually, I cleaned before and after Thanksgiving. I hope that my efforts today will last through Christmas.

Nearly all my presents are wrapped and ready. Cards will be in the mail today and the rest will go to the mail box at the church and offering to Lottie Moon. That is so good that they do this.

I need to connect my scanner so that I can scan my card.

I also need to make phone calls and that will take a lot of time. I talk too much.

    See you later......

Busy here today too. We've got our AWANA party tonight so I've got things to do for that plus my usual schooling and cleaning.

It's a day so ugly that not many will be out and about! Talk to you all later and have a great day.

My house really shines and I even took a nap between 1/2 the house and the other half [IMG]

Now I'm going to make cranberry relish.

The sun is shining and the sunroom is really warming up the rest of the house.

    A wonderful change from yesterday.

This is usually painting day, but changed plans to attend step-son's concert. First we must meet the heating repair person at his condo to see that his heating system is working properly.

Then husband has a doctor's appointment this afternoon.

We have been taking a little while each evening to drive around to see the Christmas Lights. They are beautiful and people are so creative.

Bright sunlight and blue sky today with a touch of snow still on ground. They say big storm warning for Saturday.

Just a normal day, some housework such as laundry, vacuuming, clean the litter box. [IMG]
Will also sort a pile of clothes for Goodwill.
I will try to work on Christmas cards.

I have a fantasy of someday being like some of you. All decorated and done for Christmas, with presents wrapped, cards mailed, and watching Christmas movies in front of the fire.
NOT HERE!! Oh, well, it will all get done.

Not a whole lot going on today.

Regular school day with the girls,we ate lunch, made puppy chow(a wonderful Christmas snack)...I told the girls they could watch a movie and eat puppy chow this afternoon....then later,we have basketball practice for one and ballet class for another...

Then home for dinner and family worship time. We are doing the *Adornaments* from Family Life...we do one each night. There are 12 and each one teaches about the names of God,then we put it on the tree...we will have all of them on the tree by Christmas day.

I want you to know that I was at the grocery store before 8 AM. Snow and ice are coming and I wanted to be sure we had what we needed if we get iced in, which is usually what happens here in Central Oklahoma.

I had four items on my list. Left the list at home and you should have seen what I bought. Oh, I forgot to mention that Ed went along, too. I had to keep taking the Krispy Kremes out of the basket and other such goodies [IMG]

I was going to get my hair cut, but I think I will wait until next week.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

I think I will build a fire. Turn on all the Christmas lights. Make some hot chocolate and read a good book and listen to Christmas music.

This morning I received a call before I was awake from son in law who wanted me to keep his two children today while he worked. I said sure bring them over.

I leaped (?) from my warm bed and started preparing for a fun day with grandchildren, but.....the Christmas presents are all in the room where they will sleep...Oh what to do with the presents. (This is the only room that I didn't clean this week)

I hid the presents, cleaned the room. Then their dad changed his mind and is not going to work today. Do you think Ed put him up to this so I would get up early and get busy? :D

Just had a long talk with my brother and a talk with my mother.

We didn't get the ice and snow that part of the state got.

The only thing I need to do now is get music ready for church tomorrow.

I'm enjoying all the Christmas shows that are on television.

Hope you have a wonderful day. Enjoy this time of year.

We got it instead. I'm here while the rest of them went sledding, rabbit hunting, etc.
Well, the dog is here. Moaning everytime I make him go outside to do his job. We tunneled a nice path for him, but he sure hates to get his feet wet. The cat just smirks and burrows down further in the blanket. Supposed to be 50's and sunny by midweek!

I'm envious of all you have gotten done. I plan to iron, work on Christmas cards, roast a chicken for supper, do laundry, then later on we will put up the Christmas tree with Christmas music in the background hopefully.

Also will be working on college applications for one child. That is not fun. He hates writing the little essays on subjects such as what he would contribute to the diversity of the campus.
Naturally, he is applying to OU. We are really impressed with all David Boren is accomplishing there.

Karen, our dog, Muffin, loves the cold weather. He has a very thick coat. He is a Bichon. He ran outside this morning and checked with his friends next door and he has been napping every since. In fact I just took a picture of Ed and Muffin napping on the sofa.

Those college applications are tough now. When I went to college, they recruited students just like they recruit atheletes now.

My granddaughter was accepted to OU and even was offered a scholarship, but she chose OBU instead.
She has lived in Norman all her life. Maybe she just wanted to get out of town. She wanted to go to an Ivy League School, but the cost even with a scholarship was just too much.

If you child goes to OU, maybe we will get to meet some day.

I'm playing with grandchildren after all. We are playing with legos. Watching Santa movies and the Heisman Trophy award ceremony. Grandson goes to the same school as Jason White did. He is proudly wearing a cap autographed by Jason White.

Exciting night. The town of Tuttle may be changed to White City.

Yesterday was my busy day. Well, busy for me, anyway. Ava and I joined a Moms group and went to a welcome brunch from 10-12. Then we went to get the truck washed and got the oil changed. The we came home to let the dogs out. I rested for a bit and then cut the grass. How many of you have done that this week?? I consider myself lucky to cut grass and not shovel snow!! Then Ava and I went grocery shopping at the commissary. I made dinner and waited until Steve called for a ride hoe from work. For anyone who thinks the military doesn't work, he was at work from 5 AM until 7:30 PM...it's been like that for almost 13 years straight. By Jan. 17 he should be on his way to Iraq, so we're trying to get things like Power of Attorney and wills updated. Today I just did laundry, went to get us some lunch at maiu Tacos and the finished cutting the grass out back....hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! Stay safe while driving!! [IMG]

No grass cutting here, but no snow either.

It is a beautiful sunny day. We had a lovely Christmas Church Service this morning. Lunch with the step children.

Two grandchildren spent the night, ate breakfast, got ready for church and their Dad picked them up to go to their church because they were in a Christmas program. It was tempting to go with them, but I had responsibilities at our church.

I think we will spend a restful afternoon.
